Just put them on a thumbdrive, old ipod, load it on a memory card, take the hard drive out and use an external enclosure and do that (not sure if it will work between formats in that case).

Can't answer that one. One second, let's see if we can call for help...Amy wrote:Fun! I hadn't seen those photos of yours before! I just have to figure out how to transfer the files from the PC to my Mac. I'm assuming it can happen through a USB cable? Any thoughts or advice?mindflipper wrote:Amy, if you can, try to dig up some of those old photos are post them here on Subsonic. When elizabethswann was contemplating a trip to DLP, I posted some of my photos:

Ummm, it is a bit too substantial to put on a little flashdrive, unless I do it in batches which I want to avoid...Wizzard419 wrote:Just put them on a thumbdrive, old ipod, load it on a memory card, take the hard drive out and use an external enclosure and do that (not sure if it will work between formats in that case).

Very cute Wizzard!Wizzard419 wrote:Too big for a flashdrive? How large are we talking here?
Or try this http://tinyurl.com/38rgxlk
As for the files, it's a titsch over 8000 photos ~ I was gone for 4 months. If I had known at the beginning of my trip how much my travel hard drive would hold as far as pictures went, it would have been much. much more

Live and learn...

If it's in plural TB's of data then there is no flashdrive that can handle it, yet.
(The largest one that exists is like 1.6TB and is not for sale to the public yet).
Anyway, follow the link and the first hit actually gives you instructions on how to use ethernet cable to fileshare, as long as the PC is still in working order.

Go next door, punch your neighbor in the face, take cable. Problem solved.
Works exceptionally well if you're not prone to violence since they will then write it off as a hallucination.

You can't argue with results.

...if you're into a highly inefficient high-cost methodology. There are hidden costs to his suggestion: lost time to being arrested and jail time, cost of bail, legal costs, court costs, civil lawsuit damages to be paid to the nieghbor, and much more. Much more productive to try some other suggestion.Wizzard419 wrote:You can't argue with results.
If the USB flash drive is too small, what about the larger USB hard drives (250 GB to a 1 TB). Should be able to copy onto those USB hard drives and use it interchangeably between a PC and a MAC.

Which is why I noted "if you're not prone to violence [...] they will be forced pass it off as a hallucination" since it wouldn't make sense.
Or just larger flash drives of the same size.
With the hard drives, double check that the formatting issue has been resolved. A while back I heard of some weird issue with using hard drives (forgot it if was a USB or if they had pluged directly into the mobo) where it made it impossible for the drive to be used on the PC again without having to reformat it. It might be a really old issue but I would just double check that first.

Re: OCT 2010: A Road Trip to Disneyland Paris
All right you two ~ no more bickering!
I was wanting to copy all of my trip photos from the PC to the Mac but in the interest of time, I copied just the DLP and TDL photos onto a flash drive. I will see if I can get them on the Mac later tonight. Shouldn't be a problem ~ I hope! But for the moment I need to finish watching the movie I rented yesterday and must return in a few hours. Inception is not a movie I think lends itself well to my normal levels of multitasking

Did you rent from a real place or a redbox?

Funny you should ask ~ had a coupon for 2 free rentals from redbox, the rental part did not go smoothly, but the movies were fine and the return went smoothly. Now for some pizza - sorry, not home madeWizzard419 wrote:Did you rent from a real place or a redbox?
