Because I forgot about Spectro, we took too long getting out of Main St Station and got trapped by the parade, thus losing about 45min of our EMH night. A lesson I will not soon forget.
Yeah MK get petty chaotic at night with the Spectro and Wishes. The worst part is the mass exodus following each of the events. The only good part is it leaves you with the rest of the park to yourself!

My regret is not being able to go back to WDW with my parents. We went one time in 1972 and did not return. My father passed away in 1977. I guess that is why I want to take advantage of the time with my son (and the rest of my family) and build as many memories as possible.

May be kind of a weird regret, but mine is focusing on taking a lot of pictures. (No pun intended.) I almost feel kind of cheated (my own fault) by trying to take a lot of pictures that I didn't really take the time to personally soak in the atmosphere. It didn't help that I had a new camera I was trying to figure out.

My regrets are almost the opposite of Viking's:

1) I regret not having taken many pictures during my initial trips to Disney. I really wish that I had them now.

2) Last time we went, my Hubby and I only stopped for 3 days on our way home from Puerto Rico. I wish we would have added a couple of more days. Then, we would have had time to go around to the various resorts and see, and take pictures of, the Christmas decorations there.

I'm glad to see this post. My regret from my last trip is waiting too long to make our 1st trip to the Magic Kingdom.

Like many fans here, I plan out the entire vacation months in advance. For me, that's a great part of the excitement. The last three trip, we've had our daughter with us so our plan of attack has changed. I plan out character meals she'll like, Bibbity Boppity Boutique outings, Hoop De Doo Review dinners, and MNSSHP evenings. I try to schedule things around her likes and dislikes.

On our last trip, we went to Epcot on our arrival day. That gives us a chance to eat whenever we want, plus both my wife and daughter want to shop at MouseGear The are HUGE MouseGear fans. Since our daughter had just turned four and was a huge animal fan, I scheduled Animal Kingdom for our first full day, followed by a trip to Downtown Disney. (Yep, more shopping at World of Disney.)

On Day 2, I sheduled then Disney-MGM, but we didn't stay to see Fantasmic. My girls needed an early night. On Day 3, we went back to Epcot, then took the boat ride to MGM to watch Fantasmic.

Finally, on Day 4, we went to the Magic Kingdom. Afterwards, my wife said "If finally feels like we arrived." I agreed. And even though we ended up going to the Magic Kingdom several times over the next few days, by waiting until our 4th day to make our 1st trip to the Magic Kingdom really lessened the vacation. I won't make that mistake again. On every other vacation, we hit the Magic Kingdom on the first full day. That's the way it will be the next time, too.

Very interesting Secondstar. On our trip last year, we planned out our dining to coincide with EMH and night time festivities. We ended up not going to MK until the third day. For some reason I felt the same way by not going to MK early on. Hopefully, we will be able to correct that this time around.

My last trip to EPCOT before it got totally messed up was in 1996. World of Motion was in the midst of its transformation into Test Track, but Horizons and the original Journey Into Imagination were still open. I rode both, but since I was 18 at the time I thought I was way too cool for them.

If I had the same appreciation that I do now, I would have ridden them both multiple times, really soaked in the experience.

One trip a couple of years ago I had some time on my own and I amost did the "Behind the Seeds" tour, but I did not.

I regret that I have not done any of the behind the scenes trips. I want to do the scuba diving one (yes I am a certified diver) but I think you have to have dove in the past 6-12 months I have not dived in probably 5- 10 years. :(

Regrets?

Post by DaRkNeSs » Apr Sun 12, 2009 12:03 pm

One of my biggest regrets from my last trip, was that I focused way to much on hitting every attraction, that I let myself get into a very fast pace. With my son being 5, I wanted him to soak in as much as possible and make some great memories. But once I got back, I told myself next time man just slow down and enjoy the experience that is Disney!! Dont need to do everything at once!!

Oh, I almost hate to admit this one: my birthday at WDW 2 years ago. I'm the family planner but I planned it terribly. We started a bit late and went to MK on a Saturday, which was busy and crowded and then we seemed to make all the wrong decisions. I think we ended up riding only about 8 rides the whole day. I was in tears by bedtime.

Fortunately, we changed plans as a result of that day, went back to MK 2 days later and lucked into the very best Disney day of our lives. 30 rides: even Space was a walk-on. I called it my very merry un-birthday day.

Discovery Island. Always said "Next Time!" It has taught me that "Next Time!" might very well be never. :mickey:

Omg I know what your talking about :( I invited my x mother-inlaw and she did the same thing :( she would get my son to ask when we eatin and where we going and so on :( I had to tell my son don't act like her or else :( that trip almost the whole family was getting sick :( so we had to make doctor runs for people who needed to go and get meds :( she got mad and said she didn't come not to go to a park that she on vacation :( she even complained why we had to do the kiddie rides. I told her well maybe because we all have kids and its there vacation to. Also she told me that when she comes to the parks that she likes it better when she goes with her sister because they go alot faster and they don't do the kiddie rides. I told her when you have young kids and alot of people in your party you cant go as fast as if there is only two pepole :( Then to make it even worse she didn't know the other people in the family and she would talk bad about the other people about somebody else :( man what a fight that was when you find out what she said about somebody else and about me to :( I say dont take your in-laws on your vacation if you want to enjoy it :ccat: NEVER AGAIN THIS WAS MY WORST REGET EVERY :( :( :(

See Illuminations. Every time we go I plan to see it, but my family is always too tired by the end of the day and doesn't want to stay.

My big regret is that I got a migraine on my last trip to Disneyworld and did not get to eat at Le Cellier :(
