DisneyYorkie gave a great suggestion as to the surprise boxes too. I still remember when we went on trips, we had surprise balls. Mom would get little toy trinkets, candies and the like, and roll them into a ball using crepe paper. Every 50 miles or so we got to unwrap a certain amount. I think some of the fun was you never knew if you were going to get to a surprise in that time of unwrapping or if you would have to wait until the next time frame. There were three of us, so at least one of us would manage to unwrap something each time. Thinking back I don't really remember if it was measured in miles or minutes, but I still remember those fun little surprise balls! I believe I ended up seeing them in stores one time and found out they actually sold such a treat, but my Mom chose to make ours to save money and make sure we would like the surprises inside

That's a cool idea! If you remember any more info on it let me know I would be interested in doing this for the car drive down!

Right now we have Crystal Palace and Sci-fi which that's one where the "eat and dash before the baby starts to pitch a fit" will probably be of concern Great tips for us! Thanks so much and hopefully we can stick to just relaxing and yes enjoying it as a family!

sci-fi shouldnt be as much of a concern, the theatre sound makes is difficult for conversations, should mask a goodly portion of 'unhappy lil'one'

Yeah but maybe she's used to it with her older siblings with high noise levels it's one of those things we will just have to see what happens and try not to fret it ahead of time

We just officially rolled under six months!!!! Step-papa is making dinner ressies for us, we have our spreadsheet set, and are just in "idle mode" until October 13!!!

So much will happen between now and then, but still, I can't wait.

Older daughter will have started her senior year of high school, yet another swim season will be upon us (ugh), the dreaded SAT and ACT's will be behind us, we'll be applying for college and making those visits, younger daughter will be at the top of the heap as an 8th grader, taking high-school-level courses early (egad). I bet by then the younger one is finally truly taller than the older one, too. That drives Meghan up a wall!

Something about turning that 6-month mark that makes it all seem like a down-hill coast now.

Our family will be there 3 weeks from right now. 2 nights at the Universal Hard Rock followed by 4 nights at the Wilderness Lodge. Next, October for Mickey's no-so-scary halloween party followed by November for the wine and dine half marathon and finally (as far as our current plans go), January for marathon weekend.
