Awesome job Amy! Really nice work with the camera in getting all of those pictures.
Yep 20% biodiesel and 80% regular diesel.dstrawn9889 wrote:i think, len back me up, that they use b20? in the buses already... a bioblend of waste cooking oil and diesel

and i would think that ANY diesel engine can run that... i mean here, if we have waste turpentine, mineral spirits and the like are put in the trucks' tanks and mixed (in small amounts) and used up instead of having someone come pick it up

Well, I don't normally do anything to faces, but since there were so many, I wanted people to know which two grinning faces to look at (for those who have not met NaCler or myself yet) Plus as mindflipper said, it makes everyone look pretty cool in the Tower of Terrorboilerbabe wrote:Love your report and pics Amy!!! I'm super upset to hear they are even talking about axing the treehouse?!?!?!Like you said, hopefully not anytime soon since they just gave it a refurb?! The riverboat is a classic too. I wonder what they would put in it's place? Or would they just leave the river empty?! Too bad they can't come up with an alternative.
That's great that you and NaCler got to meet up and catch up!!!
Keep the report and pics. coming!!!

Day 4 -
Up early this morning. I was going to sleep in a bit but I was awake by 6:30 so I decided to get up and start the day. Our breakfast from the food court was a rather disappointing start to our day. They already had waffles pre-made
I had never seen this before and was a little shocked as it was just about 7 when I was getting our breakfast so it wasn't like there were a ton of people clamoring for food
I told Mom when I returned to the room that I thought it felt pretty humid out, and lo and behold, when I turned on the weather channel, the temperature was currently 70 degrees and 90% humidity ~ ugh!! But the vacation goes on, and off we went to Animal Kingdom, arriving right at 9.
We headed back for the Safari and saw a moderate amount of activity from the animals.
Has this sign changed? Didn't it just used to be a little simba??

White rhino...

Muddy...err, black rhino

The bridge over the crocodiles for the Wild Africa Trek...

Let's all go for a ride outside now, the summer sun's calling my name, I hear ya now

This was the best photo I got of the elephants this time around. They just never were in a good spot

Ladies and Gentlemen, put your hands together for the Cheetah Girls! What? Oh, never mind...nothing to see here, moving along...

I swear this is an animatronic lion, it is always right here sleeping

Oh no, that's right, she has to do the work so he can get his beauty rest. Gotta keep that mane looking good

Next we went to the Festival of the Lion King ~ one of Mom's favorite stage shows.
These guys really earn their bananas!

We split a hot Italian sandwich and salad at Pizzafari. Luckily I had asked for the caesar salad (which was supposed to come on the sandwich) to be placed on the side of the sandwich. When they presented me with the tray I then thought to ask if the caesar dressing had anchovies in it. They told me the dressing did in fact have anchovies in it. F1gment is allergic to seafood so luckily they offered me a plain lettuce salad when I asked if they had one. But it alerted us to be mindful during the rest of the trip since most of the counter service locations seemed to have caesar salad as a side or ingredient.

Pizzafari has really cute murals on the walls...

We then went to It's Tough to be a Bug. I really like this attraction
This is the only time F1gment is happy to see bugs

Well, I know I can have more albums on photobucket, it's just the one I was using is full at 2500 photos. And I don't want to re-upload my photos I uploaded last night, I want to move them from the one album to a new one, but so far I don't know how (or even if) I can do thatdstrawn9889 wrote:you could put some on an imageshack account as well, that is what i use... http://www.imageshack.us

Cool. Hopefully they'll move to a higher biodiesel blend. Much cleaner.Len90 wrote:Awesome job Amy! Really nice work with the camera in getting all of those pictures.

Re: Amy and F1gment take on Thanksgiving 2011
most of the fleet could take it, if you stop and clean all the crap out of the motors before switching (all of the coke on the cylenders, valves, and exhaust runners)...
any full biodiesel i have seen still has some high-octane racing fuel(alcohol), mostly used to crack(denature) the oil into something the injectors can push, making it not a "True" b100
a side note here, you can believe Wikipedia:
Also in 2007, Disneyland began running the park trains on B98 (98% biodiesel). The program was discontinued in 2008 due to storage issues, but in January 2009, it was announced that the park would then be running all trains on biodiesel manufactured from its own used cooking oils. This is a change from running the trains on soy-based biodiesel.[18]

Yes, biodiesel is a much better solvent and thus acts like a "detergent." It's probably best to use B100 on new vehicles, and use higher and higher blends gradually so all the gunk doesn't break loose all at once. I wish we used all waste cooking oils to make fuel. Other wise, it's just a ... waste.

Day 4 - cont'd
We wandered around the tree of life trails and looked at the various animals along the trails.

I wonder how many people know there are little critters along the trails? We saw some parrots which were really funny, mugging for the camera, and then quickly turning away at the last second. Clever birdies
Fun to watch, torture to photograph

There was a very laid back, as if there is any other kind, giant Galapagos tortoise chilling in his pond.

Some very sleepy African crested porcupines, although I believe the sign indicated they are nocturnal animals, so I suppose they were just sleeping rather than sleepy
And this one was keeping an eye out for...treats??

Some painted storcks that were just awesome. These two looked like they were sharing secrets!

Forget it lady, I'll never tell...

We also saw some flamingos that weren't sharing very nicely with the ducks
Here they are not sharing nice with one another too

One of the innocent flamingos

Saddlebill stork

Airing out the stink...

Lucky duck ~ he lives at Disney

We then headed for Dinoland. I like some of the attractions there, but that whole carnival in a parking lot thing just depresses me whenever I see it. Given that it was a broiling hot and humid day, the asphalt was none too appealing either.

F1gment and I went on the Triceratops Spin, a first for her on that attraction. The dinos were showing some wear on the bottom, although perhaps that is part of the themeing?!

Then I went on Primeval Whirl where I gamely handed off the camera to F1gment. She actually did a pretty good job capturing me a couple times as I whirled through time.
Here I am ~ great job F1gment!!

The girl next to me kept saying she was going to throw up as we neared the end
This is her at the beginning not looking so well either...

I must say, the fans they have spread throughout the Primeval Whirl did a good job keeping things pretty cool. Now if only they had something to keep the hyperactive children in front of me that were jumping up and down, and up and down, from landing on my feet...multiple times! Hello parents, that forced smile I am giving you does not mean I am ok with your precocious children jumping on my feet
And I had two unaccompanied pre-teens behind me that weren't much better. Plus one of those kids was pretty sweaty and smelly so I decided to sacrifice the toes to save the nose

I think we like Animal Kingdom because we like animals a lot and have no shortage of things to photograph. Plus they have some awesome food at Flame Tree BBQ
