We live 965 miles by the most direct interstate-only route. So that's two full days of driving by my book. I'm not one of those "drive all night, take turns sleeping" kind of people. When I was teaching we lost a student over spring break because of that arrangement. But I digress...
We don't make it anymore than every couple of years. The primary reason is how expensive a Disney trip is, but we also enjoy going other places and doing other things, too. We're big advocates of the National Park system, and since my home state is Michigan, and there are literally hundreds of beautiful beaches in Michigan, we tend to gravitate in that direction. It's hard, not going to WDW as often as we WANT to, but it makes the times we do go that much more special.
