Day 2 -
I never sleep well away from home. I am not used to someone snoring mere feet away from me. F1gment tells me I do my own share of snoring, plus I chatter away in my sleep evidently :? Not sure how I am snoring when I am awake almost all the night, but... Anyhow...got up around 7 and woke her up while I went out and took some pictures of the resort.
We were in the Touchdown buildings. This was one of the only times there was not someone playing on the football field. If you have kids that like football, this is the resort to stay at!

This was an area that sort of looked like a medal podium

By the Basketball buildings

If you look closely, you'll notice that my friend, Mr. Shadow Puppet made the trip with us  It also looks like a PacMan is going to eat us both
Image

Love the Tennis buildings. Donald is really mad because his nephews are playing baseball on the court!

Poor Donald :(

Not sure if this is considered the main pool for the Sports resort or not. I think so...
Image

Oh look, there is the All Star Sports Calypso building...all the way...over...there.
Image

Not sure what these plants were, but they were sure pretty ~ didn't taste very good though. Needed more sugar ;) Waka-waka!
Image

The view out our door. One of the rare times there wasn't a maintenance cart parked in the circle. The only other time no one would be around would probably be when it was really cold and I didn't have my room key after fetching hot cocoa and F1gment was in the shower...maybe, I'm just guessing
Image

I got back to the room shortly before 8 and took her ECV to go get brekkie. It is more convenient for Mom to be getting ready and have breakfast delivered, plus it gives me something to do so I am not chomping at the bit to get going. We shared a cheese omelet which was made by a Cordon Bleu intern. I asked her if she was indeed from the Cordon Bleu school and she said she had just graduated and ours was the first omelet she had made at Disney. I congratulated her on graduating from such a prestigious cooking school. The omelet tasted like any other Disney omelet so I guess she did ok  We shared a Mickey waffle for the rest of our brekkie. This year's quick service dining plan deleted the additional side from the breakfast, now you could get an entree and one other thing, so we usually opted for the bottle of juice so F1gment could drink that as a snack in the parks. Not a big deal, but it did limit my consumption of delicious chocolate pastries or rice krispie treats in the morning :( which was probably a good thing ;)
We got out the door and headed to EPCOT about 9. The day dawned nicely with a temperature of 62 and relatively low humidity when we were heading out.

Love looking at your pics, Amy! I am gonna have to play with the panoramic setting on my camera next time we go!

We had Mickey towels when we arrived at All-Star Sports, too! It was such a cute resort. :) Sorry you didn't get to stay at your original pick, though!

Sweet pics Amy! I'm going to have to try out the panoramic setting on my camera too...I haven't really played around with the settings at all yet.

Nah, we didn't have our hearts set on Music, although I do like the theming there better and we wouldn't have had to deal with the RFID enable pop dispenser system  Sports actually worked out pretty well as we were always the first stop for the buses when it was making stops at all of the All Stars!

Yup, I encourage both of you to try out the panoramic settings. It was sort of fun, although it really seemed to stymy people who were trying to stay out of my pictures. They would duck and pop back up just as I was scanning across to where they had just moved! I heard "Well! I didn't know she was taking a movie!! Tsk!!!" many, many times this trip  Hey it's digital, I don't mind. And one of my favorite photos was a "mistake" by someone stepping into my frame :D

Wow picture intense and I like it! I usually don't tend to sleep well on the first night of our trip due to both excitement and the idea of not being in my own bed.

...or perhaps it's like mixing matter and anti-matter? Maybe having the two of you generates chaotic mayhem with disastrous results on the rides... :mickey:

That must be it, since I also rode with no problem. At least it was fun to be stuck with someone. I would have been boooorrrrrred if I had been alone!

Wait, isn't that what a smartphone is for - to fill in the free time?

I had to save the batteries ~ who knows how long we could be stranded up there?!?

 Luckily we had already taken the plunge  And we were in the front of the log so we had no delusions about tall people soaking up any splash before we went over  yup, mindflipper, I'm talking about you again! ;)

Sorry, but the rider in the first row is under no obligatory requirement to sacrficially get drenched for any other riders behind him...

Day 2 ~ off to EPCOT
There was a little unpleasantness on the bus. There was a lady complaining mightily that the people that use scooters and wheelchairs should just stay in them and not take up a seat on the bus. I managed to make it all the way to the park without saying anything to her, but I really wish some people would think before they speak. And hopefully they never have to deal with having difficulty getting around. However, perhaps they will be a little more understanding if they do...
We rode Spaceship Earth and took in the wonderful smell that is Rome burning. I love this attraction, but really dislike the current script.
I miss that pretty little city scene with all the fiber optic lights that you used to go by as you descended...
Image

We checked on the proper place to get our free Disney Visa photo, since we weren't in the proper spot last year :( and also checked the times ~ 1:30 to 4:30.
We harked off to the other Innoventions and I designed my roller coaster with a thrill score of 550 and 4 inversions.
We toured the House of the Future, which I had read had just opened within the past few days. Not a lot of impressive new technology but we did have fun in the courtyard playing with the interactive screen while we waited. You could rake leaves and help flowers grow, and also play with fish in a pool. I sort of had to pull F1gment away from that once they were getting ready for the house tour :D
Image

The free floating bed was pretty cool.
Image

One for the men-folk and grillers out there. The backyard did have an impressive feature that took humidity and rain water and turned it into drinking water for the home. (I think, my memory's a bit Dory-ish)
Image

I went on Mission Space where I tried to hold my breath for the entire ride as it became very obvious once we were enclosed in our trainer that someone had vomited in there quite recently.
Image

Pretty sure this is the window into the corporate lounge.
Image
Image

Hello over there...I wish I was in your capsule!! Mine smells like protein spill :(
Image

I went on Test Track as a single rider, which went fairly well...this time
Much like my car at home, the windshield could use a pass from a bottle of Windex, but at least we stayed on the road :D
Image

Universe of Energy for both of us. In a new turn of events, F1gment stayed awake for the entire attraction!
I'm not sure if I had ever really noticed this part of the building before ~ on the side of the waiting area to get in. I took my life in my hands to take this photo as there were several hyper children bouncing off the walls (and people) in the waiting area.
Image
Image

Awake at the beginning ~ and the end!
Image

It was really hot today, but a beautiful day!
Image

I went on Sum of All Thrills again as there was no wait. I scored 835 this time around. Then we were off to get our Disney Visa photo. Waited 45 minutes. The kind cm at the door reminded us that it was Mickey's birthday which would come in handy not only when we met the Mouse inside, but also later on in our trip :D

I liked the lighting in Innoventions as it made F1gment look like she had war paint on her face...
Image

We ate at the Land for lunch. Mom had the sweet and sour chicken with noodles that she likes so much and I had the turkey sandwich with potato salad. And a rice krispie brick for dessert! But I had to save it for later since I was stuffed from the sandwich. We had heard from NaCler while we were waiting for our visa pic. He and his Mom were at the Land. We traded spots as we headed toward the Land and they went to get their Visa pic. They lucked out and only had to wait about 5 minutes for their visa pic.

I would love to have this as my house!
Image

Perhaps boilerdude had an "Extremely hot pepper" margarita instead of a jalapeno margarita?!
Image

This integrated aquaculture always intrigues me...
Image

Does this remind anyone else of Willy Wonka?
