Day 1 ~ departing from chilly Michigan for hopefully warm Florida

4 am and the Jeep, with it's freshly fixed "could-have-gone-flat-sitting-at-the-airport-for-two-weeks" tire is packed and ready to go. Notice the properly applied Magical Express tags. I love the convenience of checking the luggage in at the airport and then not worrying about it until it shows up in your room!

It was dark when we first started out, but the sun came up rapidly as we winged Southward

It was funny how little the planes looked even when we were all flying together...
Image

Delta offers these nice charging stations at all the gates. I didn't have cause to use them, but several people were plugged in. They also had free wi-fi, but it was limited to local attractions...sigh.
Image

The Atlanta airport had the fancy-schmancy Coke machines. I stuck with regular coke and then thought, hey, this is a great time to be able to try the different kinds of Coke. Only after I tasted all but one variety of the different Coke flavors, lime, orange, vanilla, etc. did I stop to think that I would be on a plane for the next two hours

Yeah, this picture just pokes fun at all the Facebook photos I see of people taking their photo in bathrooms and sharing it. I couldn't help myself

On the second plane from Atlanta to Florida with light fluffy clouds. We really lucked out and had very smooth flights!

While waiting for the Magical Express, there was a group of 20 people right behind us. They were all dressed in matching shirts, had matching travel pillows with their names on them, and even had someone with a great name ;) It didn't take me long to be glad I wasn't part of their group. The leader was quite militant and had the entire trip planned down to the nanosecond. Yikes! They also managed to push ahead of us and fill the entire front of the bus so F1gment and I had to work our way to the back of the bus. Not a big problem for me, but it would have been nice to offer the front seat to an elderly traveler so they didn't have to limp all the way to the back
Image

On the way to WDW, we spotted this cloud in the sky. Reminded me of our last name's initial, but also the fancy S for Subsonic!

Arriving at the All Star's resort...

WOW!!!!!!!!   Those are some great shots from airplane, Amy! :D

The last time I flew it was cloudy with a chance of rain, so no great views from the window but you had some great pics from your flight.

I wonder if the pic with the plane in the clouds could be submitted to Len90's plane website?

Thanks ~ I have a few nice night photos from the trip home as well. This plane's window was super scratchy so it was a bit challenging. I wish I had my other camera out, then I could have gotten a little closer zoom on the other plane...

Great pics Amy... I especially love the adorable picture in the mirror! I think you look cool! 8-)

I'm throwing some stuff in suitcases tonight after work and we head north to WDW tomorrow morning! The drive is about 3 hours and 45 minutes, to be exact, but that depends on the Miami traffic on the front side. It always seems unreal right before we go on another trip to the world, and I am pretty excited about this one as I have not been up there this time of year! Just one more day Yay!!!!!!!!! I guess I will start my own trip thread tomorrow morning on the drive up! TTFN... :D

Now why didn't I see those fancy coke machines when we were at the Atlanta airport?!
Oh right.. cause we had car problems and almost missed our flight.

Great pictures and report so far, Amy!

Yikes! I don't why it makes me so happy, but I love having Coke in Atlanta since that is their headquarters (I think) :D

As far as I am aware, it is. There's a "World of Coca Cola" located near the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta (hopefully, it's still open...).

Great to see your report rolling Amy. I always love sitting near the window on the plane so I can look out and take pictures. You just never know what you might fly over.

F1gment generally claims the window seat and is a good sport about me leaning over her to look. I never know if the camera is ok to use while the "electronic" devices need to be turned off though. It seems like it would be ok...next time I shall have to ask...

Looks like I was just a week or so too early for being on the "important" safari. That would have been cool to have the characters in my photo! The guide on the right was on my trek though...

Great start to the report Amy! Those pics are sweet too! I'm never sure about the camera thing too...I put my phone on airplane mode and take a few pics that way, but there's not much in the way of zoom.

We just encountered one of those fancy coke machines at a burger place...we had grape sprite zero. Not too shabby.

Yeah, I just turn my phone off completely on the plane. I can't imagine the camera interfering with anything though.
I think one of the burger kings aroun us has one of the fancy coke machines. It would be fun to try more of the flavors, but I mostly just like regular coke anyhow...
