We recorded shows before I left so you should not have noticed I was gone.

I would recommend staying at French Quarter over Riverside. Riverside is always more crowded (it's a bigger resort) so the waits for buses will be much longer than at French Quarter. Just my 2 cents after staying at French Quarter this past weekend.

I've been at Riverside twice already and I love it.

I've been there once in 1993 and then in 2001, now in 2006. So as you can see, just a lot of memroies.

Thanks anyway.

The Riverside is much better than the French Quater!
I've been to both, but now we always return to Riverside. The pool is nicer, personally the bright blue slide thng just looks too false for me. I love relaxed, more natural feel of the old Dixie Landings! The cotton Mill with the watermill is also very nice to sit beside when you eat. Theres just something relaxing about the sound of running water which is great after a hectic day in the parks!

I just wasn't a fan of the 50 bus stops that Riverside has. Plus if you get stuck at one of the buildings out in the boonies, it's a real hike to the restaurants and main entrance

I agree that its a bit of a walk, but I just used to love rabbits when I was little. Everymorning, really early mum and I would walk round to the watermill to get breakfast and then bring it back for my dad and brother. Everywhere you looked there were little brown rabbits hopping over the grass. I couldn't ask for a better start to my morning. :D

The 50 bus stops doesn't bother me. I hardly ever get annoyed at anything especially when I'm on vacation in Disney World :)

117 days until DL/DCA (which is 116 days too long)!

We are considering taking AMTRAK back from Anaheim (to Indiana). Has anyone done the cross-country train with kids? ADVICE?

THANKS!

4 days til DL/DCA. I have done the Amtrak thing before, not from and to those places before but it is enjoyable. I went on a trip with my godfather (who works for Amtrak) and we all had sleepers Godfather in one, and My brother, parents and me in another. It is great to be able to move around the train. The observation deck is awesome but you have to go early to get a seat otherwise all of the Old folks claim them for the whole day. The only thing I have against it is the time it takes.

Over 250 days until our DL - when does the 50th end?

Post by klm1497 » Feb Sun 26, 2006 2:32 am

We go every Nov and already I'm counting the days down. While it's still 10 months away, I'm hoping all this 50th anniversary stuff calms down. Its was SO busy this past year - busier than I've seen it. We usually have the place to ourselves but not this past year. Oh well - any day at DL is a great one.

Anyone know when the 50th officially ends?

Just booked it! Christmas in WDW with my wife and 6 month old son (he will be at the time, due in may).. Her family and my family!

It's going to be super awesome! I can't wait to take my son to Disney for his first time.. Granted he won't remember anything :) But we figured what better place to spend his first Christmas.. And it was a good excuse to get both our families to Disney at the same time.

Unfortunetly this isnt my turn to use my families DVC Points.. My sister and parents will be using them for this trip..

So we are in the All Star Movies with my wifes Family, while my folks are in Wilderness Lodge 1 bedroom apt.

Man, I am so looking forward to this trip. Dec 24-30th.

Contrats! addlema!!! WDW is magically decorated at Christmas time. Expect it to be crowded and the lines to be long. We went between Christmas and New Year's in 2003. My wife and I are talking about going back in December 2007, but earlier in the month when It's still value season and hopefully the crowds aren't as bad.
