Day 3 - Sunday 11/21
Plan: DHS for Toy Story Mania, BC for swimming, O'hana @ the Poly for dinner (without ressies!), MK with Amy and Figgy for an all nighter in the park.
Actual: We got to DHS in time for rope drop with the hordes of people at the starting line about to sprint to Toy Story Mania. It took precisely 3 minutes to walk over to TSM. The line just to get a FastPass was about 25 minutes long and the return times were already for after noon! The standby wait time was posted at 45 minutes, but the line was all the way back to the Honey I Shrunk the Audience play area! Since we weren't staying that long, we figured the FP would not help us and we got out of line. We determined that it was a waste and headed to the Muppets instead. We were in the Muppet Theatre with about 15 other people for the show. We got to see the purple cat in the daytime. It isn't any easier to find during the day.
We went over to the Great Movie Ride and had the worst gangster ever. She had a terrible accent that sounded Irish/Jersey. You couldn't understand half of what she said, and I know most of the script! On the other hand, we had the best tour guide as she was extremely perky and into it, so that made it better. It was so dead that they only had one car running at a time. I'm used to meeting up with the other car at the Wiz of Oz... It was odd.
After that we decided to see if we could get into the Sci-Fi Diner for lunch without ressies. It was a few minutes after 11am, so they said it was about a 10 minute wait. It was probably a little less than 10 minutes. I had never done it, so I loved it! I had heard the music on Sub many times, but had not ever seen it. It was cool. Food was pretty good. Better burger than Beaches N Cream, in my book.
We left and headed back to the resort for some swimming at Stormalong Bay. It was about 80 degrees outside, so it was perfect for swimming. Unlike last years trip where it was 52 degrees outside! The pool is great, though I wish it was all linked together instead of having to get out each time you want to go to the insanely slow lazy river or beach area. I looked at the slide and saw that it didn't look that fast, so I had 2nd thoughts about riding it, but if you know me at all, I usually try anything! Len's not kidding, that slide is fast and awesome! I highly recommend it to anyone. I would have done it more than once, but it's too much trouble to get back up there.
After swimming we got ready to go to the MK to take a boat to the Poly. We got there about 4pm so we were able to see the Jags blow another game... While sipping another margarita. About 4:15 we got into the standby line for people with no reservations. Thankfully it opened at 4:30, not 5 as we had thought. They had room for a party of 6 so we asked a party of 4 if we cold sit with them so that we could be seated. They were a cute young couple with 2 beautiful little girls and we had a very nice meal with them. They were from Baltimore, so I had a little bit in common with them. The noodles and wings at O'hana are SO GOOD. I am trying to find the recipe for the LoMein online, so if you have it, please pm me. Stuffed, we then took the monorail over to the MK for a long night!
We did the usual, peoplemover, CoP, Buzz, MILF, Haunted Mansion before we met up with Amy and F1gment, who were once again holding a place for us for the parade/castle show/fireworks. Did I mention that they are wonderful people?
After the fireworks we walked our mommas up to the front of the park as they weren't planning on staying until 3am like we were. We stopped for a photo of the 4 of us.
I then took Amy on a walking tour of the park, just in case she had never been there before.

Space Mountain had a 95 minute wait, so it was my bright idea to do the Jungle Cruise at night... Oh, and we couldn't cross the hub due to the thousands of people watching the castle show. So, we went the long way. We did Jungle Cruise, Pirates and then waited for the last part of MSEP so that we could get on Splash Mountain. Bad move... I should have known something wasn't right when Amy got chosen to be the card thingy holder. Yep, the ride broke down while we were on it. The good thing is that we had already passed the big drop, so we got our money's worth. After about 45 minutes they evacuated us, yep, my first evacuation from a Disney ride. Amy blames me, I blame her. Who do you guys believe? Amy has pics and even a video of the evacuation, so I'll wait for her post to show pics of backstage Splash.
After the Splash debacle, we went on Thunder Mountain before it's lengthy refurb. It REALLY needs it. The scene where the rocks are falling on you looks really sad with the burlap sacks covering the rocks. We then hit Haunted Mansion, peoplemover, Space Mountain (10 minute wait after it was closed for Tech Diff), Buzz (which I may have won), Teacups, Pooh, Snow White, Peter Pan (walk on!), Dumbo (walk on!) and finished the night off with a ride on Small World, where I am pretty sure we were the last boat with people on it.
As we strolled out of the park we got a lot of pics with no people in the way of the castle and very little traffic on Main Street. We got the 3am pics of the clocks.
As we got to the buses we said our goodbyes and went our separate ways. It was so nice to have someone to tour the park with until 3am. Thank you Amy for hanging out with me, it was a blast and I would do it again any chance I get in the future. Thanks for putting up with me griping about how sore I was from running around for 3 days and yawning constantly.
I got back to the Resort about 4am. I got a bus clock pic for Len.
