Ah Mindflipper we are fickle things and vinylmation started before Duffy. I never drunk the Kool aid with the vinyl creatures. ...gender differentitiation is tricky on the boards unless you have a user name that clearly establishes the gender (like having Amy as a name here on Subsonic) or unless you makes some foot-in-the-mouth sexist comments (like...wait, do I really need to tell you his name?).Amy wrote:But to be fair, I thought NaCler was a girl when I first met him here on the boardsmindflipper wrote:Nope, Sleepy90, it seems so far that most of the VM fans are turning out to be the women too, even though NaCler was the corrupting influence that started the VM topic thread...

So true ~ although I keep thinking that we are all going to be shocked one day when we find out Wizzard is really a girlmindflipper wrote:...gender differentitiation is tricky on the boards unless you have a user name that clearly establishes the gender (like having Amy as a name here on Subsonic) or unless you makes some foot-in-the-mouth sexist comments (like...wait, do I really need to tell you his name?).Amy wrote:But to be fair, I thought NaCler was a girl when I first met him here on the boardsmindflipper wrote:Nope, Sleepy90, it seems so far that most of the VM fans are turning out to be the women too, even though NaCler was the corrupting influence that started the VM topic thread...

Good morning, all!
I'm getting updates from B-babe on their Day 6 adventures, but since I'm busy at work today I'll have to wait until tonight to post about it.
See y'all then!

Mega-tease....
Ok, here's my standpoint of D-bear...he's cute...he is covered with hidden Mickeys...he's a cuddly teddy bear (though Pooh is still my favorite bear of little brain...)...how could a Mickey fan (or plain old Disney fan for that matter) not like him?
However, this was something that Disney originally marketed successfully overseas and in an effort to continue stuffing $$$ into their already overflowing pockets, they brought it here. Just like I think the theme parks should be unique, I believe the merchandise should be unique to each place (i.e. WDW, DLR, TDL, DLRP, HKDL...etc). I really don't care for this "one size fits all" merchandise...to me, this "blanket" merch quality keeps dropping and the prices keep skyrocketing, and I see that as pure greed....(sorry for the rant....
)
So yes, I think D-bear is cute, and perhaps one day will buy one
...and I will pretend that I got him at TDL...though I've never been...
Sounds like the Boilers are having a marvelous time!!!! The pics so far are pretty amazing considering they are taken with a cell phone camera. I'm thoroughly enjoying your commentary M-dude! (and hearing that Texas twang comin' out y'all...
)

Okay, let's get this show back on track!
Day 6 of the Boilers’ WDW homecoming adventure continues!!!!!
Greetings, WDW trip-report fans.... and a special shout-out to all the Mayhem Marauders on Sub.. “Hey, y’all!”
Okay, enough of that... let’s get down to “bid-ness..”
B-babe did manage to get up “early” and go running as promised last night. She’s happy to report that she ran 62:00 and feels fine, although she says it’s a little more humid outside than what she prefers... Well, I say: "Rock on wit’ yer bad runnin’ self... humidity and all!"
“Ahem...” (clearing throat...), sorry about that... being a running fan myself, I can’t help but get all stirred up over that stuff... but anywho...... Where were we...?
Oh yeah... so anyway, they’re now getting ready to head over to DHS (hmmmm... starting to detect a pattern here....), and B-babe is cracking up because B-dude is enthralled with watching “The Mickey Mouse Clubhouse” while she’s getting ready.
Fast forward: we’re now at DHS, and B-babe says that ToT and RnR are long waits, so they got FP’s for ToT and then walked on to GMR. She mentioned again that it’s very humid outside (can you tell she hates humidity...?
Next stop: Pizza Planet! By the way, for those of you who keep up with the weather, I’ve been watching this tropical system in the Gulf very closely... in fact I warned the Boilers last night that they need to keep an eye on it. So at this point in our story, I asked B-babe what the weather was like and she said that it’s overcast, but not raining at the moment. However, her run this morning really sapped the energy out of her. So that, coupled with the high humidity, means that they’re not really “full of energy” at the moment, and are moving kinda slowly. That being the case, they have to decide how much energy they'll have later... which means choosing whether they will do the EMH at MK tonight, or opt for the miniature golf instead. More on that later....
Right about this time, she sent me an update about their trip: B-dude went ahead and added an "extra day" ticket, so now they can spend all of their last minutes tomorrow at Epcot! Woo hooo!
So where were we...? Oh yeah, we left them at Pizza Planet. At this point I asked her if she would be sending me any pics (hadn’t gotten any so far..), and she said that she had been feeling lazy up till now and hadn’t taken any (bummer...
After Pizza Planet, they went wandering. Here’s a shot of Dinosaur Gertie’s Ice Cream stand (finally, a picture!

Next they went back to ToT, where B-babe made it a point to tell me that it was hot, and she hated waiting in line... (I think the humidity was getting to her...

When they finished ToT, they decided to get some ice cream. And Lo and Behold, His Royal Mouseness (Mickey) happened along just then, and they were able to get a nice pic with him. B-babe informs me that the pic with Mickey is on her “real” camera, not her cell phone, so we’ll have to wait for the "real trip report" to see that one.
Here’s a shot of the infamous hat that they took while wandering around:

Sadly, it finally came time to leave DHS. As they walked back to their room at the Boardwalk, they could smell marshmallows being roasted down by the pool. B-babe joked that it reminded her of “Rome Burning” in SSE.
Moving on.... they decided to play Mini-Golf. B-babe reports that they are both very competitive, so this should be interesting....
So they’ve started playing Mini-Golf, and B-babe says that they can see Fantasmic from there! Way cool!
Here’s a couple shots of them playing Mini-Golf:

B-babe got a hole-in-one!! Woo-hoooooo!!! However, despite that, B-dude still managed to beat her by 3 strokes... Grrrrrrr...!!!!!!
Oh well, at least she was under par... they both were.
After that, they decided to go back to the Boardwalk area and go to Big River Grille (where we first met them... *sigh*....). She said they played a few games of chance while waiting to be seated, and actually won, big time!
Here’s a shot of success...

Well, that's all I have for now. If they send me more stuff before my bed time I'll post it tonight. Otherwise, stay tuned for tomorrow!

Re: The Double Boilers Return Home
No photos?! Darn humidity for sapping b-babe's energy
That's great that they will be able to spend the last day at EPCOT ~ great place to go for the last day. F1gment and I usually end up at MK since she always wants one more ride on the HM and I am pretty content at any park. Well, except that one trip where I had to run around the World looking for that one last souvenir I hadn't picked up

$1 for a game of PacMan
Say it isn't so!!
What sort of games are there to play at Big River Grille? The little whale is cute ~ that is a whale right? And a little Duffy bear? The monitor is a little fuzzy, must need cleaning

Hey, guys....
The Boilers are back at home, having dinner with her parents. She says she won't be able to get on here for a few days, so I'll go ahead and post today's events later on this evening when I get home from work.

Re: The Double Boilers Return Home
Okay, I'm back...
Well, this is it... the last day of the Double-Boilers’ secret “quickie” trip to the World! Why do we say “secret?” Well, because they didn’t tell anyone at home that they were going, except her parents! Non-Disney people just don’t get it....
So let’s get to it. This morning dawned warm and humid (have I mentioned that B-babe hates humidity...?
). The sky was overcast, with the threat of rain in the air. It matched their mood.
It’s always sad on the last day of a Disney trip... you go to the parks to try to squeeze in just a little bit more fun, but it’s hard to enjoy yourself... you have it hanging over your head that you have to leave, and you can’t put it out of your mind because you have to watch the clock.... can’t afford to miss your ride back to the airport. But I digress....
They went to Epcot. There was a bright ray of sunshine in the gloom, figuratively speaking: Soarin’ was a walk-on!! Woo-hooo!!!!
(have I mentioned that B-babe also hates waiting in lines...?
)
After that, I guess they were too busy trying to wrestle as much fun as they could out of their precious few remaining moments, because I didn’t get any more updates until they were back at the Boardwalk waiting for the ME bus. At that time, B-babe reported that she was very sad because: 1) they had to leave, 2) the weather was getting worse, and 3) they wanted a corn dog, but the stand outside the Boardwalk was closed. But the silver lining in that cloud was that now Southwest Airlines is doing their check-in right at the resort, which saved the Boilers some time and hassle (footnote: Mouseoholic and I have always flown Continental, and they’ve been doing that for quite a while... we’ve always appreciated that about them. Nice to know Southwest is now catching on as well).
At the airport, she texted me that their flight was delayed 30 minutes. They were really bummed about that. Interestingly, they’re “flight-delay” virgins!
When I told her that I hate flight delays, she replied that it’s never happened to them before! Wow!
So anyway, they went to get something to eat at Macaroni’s. She said she was not impressed... “might as well have gone to McDonalds.”
Of course, after dining at WDW’s fabulous eateries, there’s no way an airport restaurant can measure up!
Well, they finally got on their flight and made it home safely, where her parents picked her up. Her Mom is making them dinner (“what service!” B-babe exclaimed...). It’s been a really nice trip, and it’s sad to have to go back to reality. B-babe says “why is it, as soon as you touch down home, it feels like you never left?!” Yeah.... I understand.
But hey, at least we all have January to look forward to!!!!
Well, that about wraps it up for me. It has been my honor to bring this “real-time” report on behalf of my good friends, the Boilers, to all the rest of their buds here on Subsonic. And like you all, I look forward to them being back here themselves to tell us “the rest of the story.”

This was a lot of fun ~ anxiously awaiting the photos from the "real" camera to flesh out the rest of the report. Hopefully b-babe doesn't suffer too badly from post-trip depression this time around!
