cy1229: Glad you made it safely. Airports always seem to be a drama fest. Thats one of the reasons we are sooo lucky to have built up enough vacation days to be able to drive. Even though your flight down wasn't 100%....... Look!!! you are at Disney. Have a grand time..... (and have a Dole Whip for us LOL). :D :goofy:

Same Day Report Day Two: The "What, are we trying to kill ourselves?" Day

OH yeah.. food... forgot to take food pics. I had some really good pasta at Mama Melrose, too. Sorry, I forgot about food pics. I'll start doing better. I did take a BUNCH of the new Fantasyland Enchanted Forest today.

We hit the parks at a little after 9 this morning. Rode a lot of great rides that I'll tell you about later, and even though sis, kids, and parents all headed back to hotel for a swim after lunch, hubby and I stuck around a little bit longer to take photos referenced above. We came back and had essentially 45 minutes to chill before going to the bus to ride to DHS for dinner and what we could get accomplished.

I went on Space Mountain for the second time today, plus the other mountains, and in so doing was sharply reminded that I'm not 25, and perhaps I should find other things I adore besides thrill rides. However, a trip on RNR reminded me that I DO SO VERY LOVE thrill rides. And it was much easier on me. :D  The lack of a true afternoon rest, along with trying to swim "upstream" while one Fantasmic show was emptying on to Sunset and the other was all lined up waiting to go in, made me wonder what I'm doing to myself. I am NOT in good physical shape (unlike my daughters, who are competitive swimmers, and are pretty B.A.) and neither is hubby, and we're hitting the naproxen sodium pretty hard. :)

Still haven't had a Dole Whip. When parents took kids back to hotel, they stopped and got DW's and all the kids just RAVED and told me how good they are. It's on the list for tomorrow.

Tomorrow should be a great day. We are going to Epcot, my FAVORITE. Can I stick to JUST Futureworld, and come back to rest before dinner? I hope so!

Soarin' if you're reading this, it's too late for me to feel like I can text you, so I'll text you tomorrow. Who else is down here? PM me.

Wish you ALL were here!!!

 Sounds like a nice second day cy! I found the same thing on Space Mountain. I think it is time for a refurb to smooth out the track a bit  Rock n Roller coaster is much smoother!
Keep walking 9000000 miles a day and you'll be in better shape than the girls in no time flat
EPCOT tomorrow today? Have a great time!! That is one of my favorite parks too ~ I love Spaceship Earth...even with it's current blah script  And F1gment hopes you'll take a ride on Journey Into Your Imagination for her. That's her favorite...even with it's current blah, ummmm, everything ;)

Have a great day at Epcot cy. I can not remember seeing anywhere there that sold dole whips but I may be wrong. I suppose it gives you an excuse to take a trip over to the poly or into MK just because you can :D

Epcot however has those great slushie icy things in Japan, heart clogging napoleons in France and what I have been told is an excellent bakery in Norway. Also margarita's in Mexico and grey goose from France. You might want to split that lot over a couple of days though.

(Morning After) Same Day Report, Day Three: Ok, Now I Think I Am Being Ridiculous

Sorry I didn't get this posted last night, guys, we were out until almost midnight last night. I slept almost 8 hours and feel like I didn't sleep... Where's the coffee??? Hubby is sitting today out :( :( :( :( because of blisters, and I would like the number to the bus that hit me. We were counting on riding the monorail back from the MK but they stopped working before we left MK. So, we walked all the way back to BLT. Let me say this, the distance isn't too bad unless you've pushed yourself too hard, you're exhausted, and you have really sore, achey feet. Then it might as well be the Mojave Desert.

Had a great time, though, and rode the Ariel's Undersea Adventure - Soarin' already gave you a good synopsis. I snapped a few pictures but not sure they're not blurry. Have to wait until they're on the big screen and I have my glasses on to be able to tell. It's a great ride unless you're a 12-year-old boy, like my nephew, who declared it a "stupid ride and too girlish." :)

For those of you coming to WDW in the next couple of weeks, know that Gaston's Tavern does serve the LeFou's Brew in souvenir cups. The drink without the cup is a snack option on the dining plan, or costs $4.49. With the cup, though, is not a snack option, and costs $9.99. The cup holds BARELY 8 oz. I was going to buy it last night, but the description sounded really sweet, and none of us felt $10 was worth a glass of frozen apple juice with stuff added to it. So, I'll leave it to someone else to chance that.

Got to watch some welders working on the Seven Dwarves mine ride last night. It's really coming together. There's work going on all over the MK.

Oh! I have Beverly faces to show you, too. And I didn't think it was that bad. The kids all loved the lemon drink from Israel. :)

Was this the first time you had tried the Beverly? And you liked it?! Oh my...that puts you in a small, elite group alongside Mousekedude...
That's too bad your husband needs to sit today out :( Maybe after he rests a bit, he will reconsider and join you later in the day. Where were you heading today?
 Your nephew sounds like my friends little boys. They probably wouldn't find the Mermaid ride too endearing either  Unless there was a scene where Ariel suddenly got jumped Wrestlemania-style!
Hmmm, I was a bit surprised at the souvenir cup pricing of the LeFou's Brew in the online posts myself. I thought the cup appeared pretty small and now you've confirmed that it is indeed pretty tiny. You guys didn't want to try it for a snack credit? Or are you not on the dining plan?
Wherever you landed today ~ hope you are having fun. I am loving the as-you-go trip report, but I am disappointed in the amount of pictures that are being included ;)

Oh no you've done it now you let the photo monster loose, you need to feed it really quickly before it starts devouring fellow subsonicer's.

Hope your hubby just needs a little rest and can join you for the evening wherever that may be. Hmmmm 12year old boys and Aerial maybe not a great mix unless it was meeting the princess herself that may have swayed them a little more. Have a super day wherever you land.

I'm sorry I haven't found this thread before now. Just a couple of notes...
1) cy, you have milk delivery service to your house? I didn't think that existed anymore.
2) Amy, maybe a good thread would be for you to post all your pics and we could tell your trip story for you. Kind of like a Caption me" game.
3) cy - glad you are having a great time. Try and get some rest and don't be too mad at hubby for not going with you. I've worn myself out so much there before that I wasn't able to move the next day. It isn't fun.

I thought the same thing about the milk NaCler ~ but I know my brother and his family in Illinois have milk in glass bottles yet. They pay a pretty penny to have it delivered, but it is theoretically better for them, fresher and all that.
I like the idea of the caption game. That might just have to happen! But I can't post all my photos. Subsonic would be mad ~ there are a lot of them

(Prelude)

NaCler - we do indeed have milk delivered! We just started that about 2 or 3 months ago. There's a dairy based primarily out of Chicago that has expanded to the Indianapolis area. The milk has no growth hormones added and is guaranteed delivered to the customer's door within 48 hours of milking. It's not ultra-high temperature pasteurized (just regular pasteurizing), and the fat-free milk tastes just like 1% or even 2% milk. It's significantly more expensive than store-bought milk, like double, but in the grand scheme of things I don't mind because it amounts to at most $20 or $30 more a month, and my girls are drinking more milk than they used to, which is good. So, it's a good trade-off. :)

Amy - I just don't have the time to upload photos right now. There are a bunch of nice ones in my camera, but I'm so... controlling... that I won't just upload without editing and adjusting light levels, contrast, saturation, etc. to perfect the image. That little bit of editing takes a mostly excellent image and makes it most excellent. Or something like that. So, patience... like we've had with you...

And not to worry, I wasn't angry with hubby. I did feel kind of responsible for all his blister woes. We talked about it tonight and have decided to try and buy a new pair of Mickey sneakers at the hotel gift shop. Hopefully that'll do the trick. (Does anybody know, blisters on the underside of the "pads" of the toes, are those caused by shoes being too tight, too "short" (as in too small a size) or too loose?)

Same Day Report Day Four: Enough was Enough, and a Mini Mini Mini Meet-up

I made the mistake of waking up and posting to Facebook pretty early this morning. I slept just fine, but felt like I hadn't slept at all, and could really use another 3 or 4 hours of sleep. In fact, I even lay back down in an effort to sleep more, but that wasn't going to happen. My FB friends all chastised me and told me to "suck it up." So after a morning spent lingering over coffee and rearranging then running the dishwasher, I started my day about 10:30. And while the attraction list from yesterday was rather extensive, today was very, very, very low-key. Probably a very good idea.

Got to meet Soarin' this evening for about an hour. It was after our dinner and before Epcot closed for the evening and before she had to head back home to bed for work in the morning. So we shared a glass of wine from a little plastic cup ( ) and found a quiet corner in France to chat. Truly enjoyed that time. Hubby managed to go along, and he took a pretty decent picture of the two of us in front of SHE. I am determined to make it one of these years when the big meet-ups occur, and for more than an hour! She's back to work for the rest of the week - that girl works too hard! :)

Recommendation of the day: BOMA!!! My somewhat picky niece found plenty of things she likes, my only slightly adventurous husband found things he likes, and the rest of us rolled our eyes with pleasure most of the time. EXCELLENT service, and dare I say, this meal outshined 'Ohana. I didn't take food photos... I did take lots of pics of Jambo House and Boma themselves, though, especially the lobby. I just didn't remember the pics until we were almost done eating. Sorry guys. But hey, I'm a trip report newbie. :D

Tired. Going to sleep now. Hopefully another low-key day tomorrow. Sleep well you's guys. :)

cy - I love that you have milk delivered. I wish that was something we had here. I am so glad you met with Soarin'. Don't worry, you will have other opportunities to meet up with the bigger group. Thank you so much for the BOMA recommendation. I would love to try it, but my family is not too keen on it.

Yeah, I know there is no time for photo sharing while you are actually on your trip...I was just hoping...sigh ~ I'm actually quite impressed that you are posting some of your trip report as it is happening. That is great :D
I would think blisters on the pads of the toes would be from socks not fitting properly, possibly too loose shoes in the toe box, and just too much mileage overall. Bandaids and moleskin are probably the best route. Not sure if he will want to try to break in new Mickey Mouse sneakers. But if he can find something that is comfortable then it is certainly worth trying!
Glad you and Soarin' got to meet up. I have to ask though, what is this SHE you took a photo in front of? :? SpacesHip Earth??
Interesting information about picky eaters and Boma. I have been reluctant to try that simply because the menu looks a little adventurous for F1gment and me. I am much pickier on the food scale, but F1gment has more food allergies to contend with. We might need to investigate the menu a bit further and maybe try it the next go 'round :D
Have fun today ~ wherever it takes you :D Hopefully shopping, I haven't seen anything about shopping yet. Other than Duffy ~ ugh!
And I really need to go update my facebook settings, I realized when you mentioned that, I haven't been seeing anything from you in my newsfeed lately. Darn that stupid social networking site anyhow

Amy - yes, SHE is SpacesHip Earth. That's how the acronym comes out when I'm super tired. :)

Hubby ended up buying a pair of crocs - not the usual style though. These have a canvas slip-on full shoe upper with a usual Croc lower. He wore them without socks yesterday, and massive amounts of bandaids and moleskin. Today, with socks. Says it was better with socks. Fortunately he wears socks that are the same height as the shoe. :) I'm so glad you guys have been playing along with the Duffy pictures. It's really annoyingly crazy how much Duffy junk there is. Oh, and get this... remember the KidCot stations in Epcot? They used to have a paint stir-stick kind of handle attached to a masquerade mask that kids could color and decorate - there was some kind of evening processional that kids could participate in before Illuminations. Well, that mask has been replaced with Duffy on a Stick. Holy Crap On A Stick! Or, new Subsonic acronym - HCOAS!

Sorry for not doing a "Same Day Report" yesterday. I was EXHAUSTED. It was one of those "Why do I do this to myself?" kinds of nights. But I promise, I'll be reporting fully on all our days, and happenings, with supporting illustrations. :)

Same Day Report, Day Six: We Bid Adieu

I'm not going to even pretend that I don't feel just a little sad tonight. We didn't have anything at all scheduled except our ADR for dinner. It was the day for doing what you didn't get to do yet (except for my Stepdad, who spent all morning and a chunk of the afternoon in his room on the phone making appointments and travel arrangements to go back to Michigan early and take his dad to assorted doctor's appointments following his dad's hospital stay earlier this week. What a poopy way to spend the last day in WDW!). And for the most part, it worked, except one thing that screwed up yesterday and hubby was INSISTING would get fixed today but didn't, on account of my brand-new blister on my heel that grew to the size of a watermelon, or so it felt. All in all, it was a VERY successful day, if you look at the big picture.

Except the stupid weather. Seriously, it was so freaking hot. Now, before you all rev up your "It's Florida!" retorts, remind yourselves that (A) I live in Indiana; (B) I grew up in Michigan; and (C) I went to college at Michigan Technological University, in Houghton, Michigan, which is waaaayyyyy up north of Marquette on the Keweenaw Peninsula, which juts out into Lake Superior (the ears of the "running rabbit" that is the Upper Peninsula). In other words, I don't do hot very well, and today was no exception. I kept touseling my hair when we went inside to help release the heat from it. I think it got to 89 or 90 degrees Fahrenheit today, with humidity to almost match it. YUCK. I do NOT like that. I thought October would be lower to mid-80s. That's what I get for thinking. So, for an hour or so, I got pretty overheated and dehydrated, and was not fun to be around. Hubby and I decided that the combination of crowds and weather have made February our optimum WDW travel time. We'll either be going to WDW without children, or waiting a long time for them to be all finished with school and able to join us. :)

Tomorrow we have a character breakfast, then to DTD for a little shopping, and then off to Cocoa Beach for a little over a day on the beach to relax and help transition back to reality. That's the song that's been running through my head all night, too... "Back to life/ Back to reality" UGH.

Good night, y'all!
