Is it insane to + Days just because Hubby leaves early?

I would go with his plan to fly back IF he can get some sleep before you all drive home. I would worry about someone falling asleep driving home. (My Dh would do the same thing, I can fly down there and stay as long as I want. But if I am driving a distance he has to be there. Whatever!)

I can side with the hubby on this one for 2 reasons really. 1) I don't like the idea of my wife driving that far with the kids alone. Call it over-protective or what, I just don't like it. Of course I have 3 kids and one is still very young. Are your boys older or still on the younger side? This makes a difference as I would want to know you had some type of help if a tire blew out or something. And 2) I'm the true Disney lover in the family so if I had any chance of returning to a park even if only for a short while, I would fly back and do it. $140 is pretty nice for a round trip. Is there any chance of him going back to a park on the 30th or would he use that time to sleep?

Our boys are 5 and 12 with the 12 year old being on the small side.

I'd be fine with going back to the parks on the 30th if he wanted to but I think he planned to use that time to sleep.

The plan would be for him to be back in Florida by 12 or 1 pm, take a short nap and then swim or whatever with us. Then we'd go back to the room for an early night and he'd get a full night sleep as would I. Therefore we'd have two drivers on the way back.

I don't think its insane, but it doesn't seem really well thought out either. Think about all the time your husband would have to spend in the airport - between transportation and flight time and security lines.

Seems like the best solution is for him to fly back early and for you to just stay a few days later with the children and then drive back. It seems like you'd have a lot of good "mommy time" with the children.

No, he doesn't like the idea of me driving back with the kids by myself. I don't know why, I've driven the route a ton of times and I'm good with navigation if we were to get detoured. I think he's just being stubborn and overprotective though I don't count it against him.

Maybe if you promise to check in via cell phone every few hours your husband would be okay with you driving?

(I know, it doesn't make any sense) but there is a chance that all of the extra plan is going to be for naught since he's not the only one whose schedule was changed so their might be enough manpower.

Thank you! I told him that I wouldn't be able to relax completely until we get down there. Although once we get the approval for his time, I'll probably be talking even more about our trip (Though not sure if that's possible) because that is the last hurdle we've had in getting this set up.

Just thought I'd let you guys know that my dh put his vacation request back through the system after there was some schedule changes and last night he got approval to take the entire time so all of the worry and planning over contingency plans was for nothing. But thanks for all of your advice.
