Excellent idea. We actually did that this past year and were able to get on Buzz with about a 5 minute stand by wait and Monster's Inc's next showing. However, be prepared for a big wait following the 10PM fireworks. People will jump to Tomorrowland and Fantasyland following everything. Also, do not do Spectro at 9PM if it is running at 11PM. The 11PM parade is a lot less crowded to the point that it is empty.
Quick tip: If you want to get on Snow White with no wait, you can stand by it during the fireworks since it is closed. You can watch the fireworks from all around you and then once the show is over you get right on.

I can say each of our kids' first trips were between 12 and 18 months of age. They absolutely don't remember any specific things, but they certainly remember feeling happy while they were there.
While my wife and I had a great time vising both WDW and DL without kids, we would never leave them at home during a trip there anymore. We have been guilty of using our sigblings and/or parents as babysitters when we go out after the kids are asleep for the night (we've had extended family vacations at WDW). This works especially well when the little ones don't want to stop for a mid-day nap, and end up crashing REALLY early.
The most important thing, though, is to know yourself and be sure to enjoy the trip! May the mouse be with you!!

Pickup a Disney "COMBAT" stroller. You must remember, when at WDW with a stroller, it's customary you run into as many people as possible. As a mater of fact, you "HAVE" to hit as many people as you can! From my experience it's a requirement. If you go around IASW you get absolutely beat up by strollers. At the frequency this happens, it has to be required!!

I believe there's a smilar custom for ECVs.

I've gotta say, having had a stroller in the World, it appears the custom for walking among people and/or merging into foot traffic with a stroller is apparently "the bigger stroller wins." We've had to be ushered into heavy traffic by cast members before.
Unfortunately, the more one waits for a break in the foot traffic, the more congested the area immediately ahead becomes. Since people take every spot they can get their feet, arms, knees or elbows into, it often requires being a little bit "pushy" to get a stroller into traffic.
I've never worked with an ECV, so I can't speak for those.

I can tell you that the one time we forked over the amount to rent an ECV for my DH (we usually just use a regular WC...he has some mobility issues), it was decided that we won't do that again. They are big and clunky, hard to maneuver and I could barely keep up with him. (though I must mention that he did enjoy using that horn and either scaring people or almost hitting them...hmmm not much different than in a car

)
But I will say that when I'm pushing him in the WC, strollers are still an annoyance. It's hard to stop the momentum when I get cut off by a person not paying attention (stroller or not).
There's my little rant....have a magical day!
