Yes... thank you! That's the point I was trying to make... in fact I was almost going to make the Hard Rock Cafe analogyYou pay 25% for the actual meal and the 75% for the atmosphere.

I used to like the food at the Rainforest Cafe. The decor is pleasant enough (the Bat Room is fun), so I took a friend there a few years ago. Everything I liked on the old menu had been removed and replaced with something slightly worse, and the food I got as an approximation of the old dish I liked was decidedly bad.
I haven't been back since.
I think it's totally lame that these things exist in malls all over the place, but Disney has the cajones to offer this restaurant to you as something special. Of course, the whole Downtown Disney area reeks of this kind of thing.

Re: T REX
accoriding to the Official T-Rex Site, the only other loacation currently open is in Kansas City, KS. however, the company that owns T-Rex also owns RainForest Cafe, along with a ton of other restaurants.kschn3671 wrote:I heard that this is national chain but I think there is only 1 other open. According to all the Disney sites I've seen, this would be correct. the official TRex site, as well as the official DTD site just show late 2008 as the opening date...mickster68 wrote: I just saw that it's slated to open in DD on October 14th.

Re: T REX
My co-worker's wife is gonna be a server over there. I'm pretty excited about the place, and the menu looks pretty appetizing. We'll see how it goes, though.js3901 wrote:accoriding to the Official T-Rex Site, the only other loacation currently open is in Kansas City, KS. however, the company that owns T-Rex also owns RainForest Cafe, along with a ton of other restaurants.kschn3671 wrote:I heard that this is national chain but I think there is only 1 other open. not surprising. It's not a Disney-owned restaurant, after all.kschn3671 wrote:I heard that you cant make disney reservations for this restaurant
