just think about months when kids will have no free time for any fun. its soo simple! summer is busy because that is when kids are out of school. so the times will always be busy. so go at times when kids are at school. :D

I would say December but it's not a choice. Light crowds, cooler weather and Disney Christmas. I think it's the best time to head down no matter what age.

I take my son out of school to go on vacation every year for 7 days. I always go when school is in session. The lines are always short and alot less crowed to :D

December is a completely different experience if you get there in the first two weeks of the month compared the the last two, with Christmas & New Years. If you're out of there by December 18th, 19th, 20th, then you get all the experience of say, a January, relatively warm weather & low crowds, with all of the best Christmas experiences, like holiday decorations and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. You shouldn't rule out December just because the holiday week ruined it for you in the past.

since my trip back in December 2006 with Dr. Ravenscroft, I've been a big advocate for the first week or so in December. We had a great time, with minimal wait times. Only real complaint I had was we went during the Pop Warner cheer leading championships that year, so during the EMH, we'd start hearing spontaneous cheers. it got quite annoying after a while...

September was great for us. We took our daughter out of school for three days, they also had two days off that week, so we went for a week. The crowds were not there and if you can stand the humidity it was great! And we had free dinning.

If I had a choice, I would like to go durning the first two weeks of December to see the Christmas decorations. And January, before MLK and after then Febuary, till Presidents Day.

Just an interesting tidbit on this past year during the first 2 weeks of December. We had 2 sets of friends that went down, one the first week, the other the second week.

The group that went down the first week had a great time. Were able to book all the ADRs they wanted and not that far in advance, maybe a month or two. The crowds were not bad and wait times were in the 10-20 minute range for most attractions and 20-30 for higher demand ones.

The group that went during the second week had the exact oposite experience. They tried to get ADRs well in advance (when 6 month window was still open before they went to 3 months in Oct) and hardly anything was available. They were a party of 7 so a little more difficult but 7 isn't bad. We have 14 when we go and get ADRs fine. And when they got there the place was packed with crowds like it was a holiday or summer. Ride times were close to 60 mins everywhere and just a tough time getting to all the attractions they wanted to. They said they would never go back then again. And the 3rd week is when the free dining was offered so it wasn't that promotion drawing the crowds either.

So, not exactly a given that the crowds will be light during the first 2 weeks as maybe the word had gotten out. Funny enough, we went before our friends during Thanksgiving week and had a great time - ADRs every night at Ohana, LeCelier, Cape May Cafe, Kona Cafe, Mama Melrose...and ride times were in the 30 minute range. Maybe we just got lucky this year with people saying stay away from that week.
