Oh yeah, I'd rather have that over the real stuff somedays! Snowing and you're walking around in shorts - can't beat that. And no shoveling - that is a real plus for anyone who lives in snow filled areas.wallerman8 wrote:There is nothing better than Soap snow!! Well I guess it makes clean up at night easy

Nightmare before Xmas Haunted Mansion
I prefer the regular haunted mansion to the holiday themed Mansion.

i love the holiday haunted mansion. but yeah on other forums ive seen people mention their dislike for it too.
anyways, i just got back from DLR/DCA and i just have to say IT WAS SO FREAKIN PACKED!! wow the crowds are unbelievable. its really something to try and get from one place to another after, during and before a parade or show takes place. you really have to plan things carefully, or get stuck in crowds.
and i have to also mention the Aladdin show at the Hyperion at DCA- it was really enjoyable and the genie was hte kewl.

My wife's Birthday is Dec. 25th so a few years ago we spent the 23-25 at WDW. It looks so great during the Holidays. It was a bit crowded but it's still very worht going to experience the happiest place on earth at the happiest time on earth. If I remember correctly they keep the parks open a bit longer during the hollidays as well. Also quick question, when did they start doing the holiday haunted mansion? When we were there they didn't have that. Is is just in DLR or do tehy do it at WDW as well?
DLR only I believe. After a quick search it looks like 2001 was the first year for it. I think they have done it each year since (september-early january). There are places on the internet you can see the planned closures for rides, and for 2005 the Haunted mansion lists two comming up, right before the Halloween time and one after Christmas so it looks like it will be back this year.jrcohen wrote:Also quick question, when did they start doing the holiday haunted mansion? Personally I love this version of the Haunted Mansion. Its so lively, coloful, and such upbeat music that its a great temporary change to the ride.

Yes!! It's especially cool after you've seen the Nightmare Before Christmas, cuz then you know where they get the song from.Gizmata wrote:

But to be honest, during winter break, I spent a little too much time listening to the mix of holiday haunted mansion, and got a bit tired of it. So now when I go next month, I'll be happy to have the regular haunted mansion back.

I was in WDW January 6-14 this year and the Christmas decorations were still up in a lot of places. They didn't take down the tree and such at the WL (where we stayed!) until almost the end of our trip.
I'll hopefully be going down for Christmas this year. I can't wait! I've never been there ON Christmas before. It's going to be so exciting (and crowded!).

I visited WDW during the first full week of December in 2000. It was absolutely beautiful and the kids actually loved the different story tellers in each country in Epcot. We always talk about going back in December, but it just so hard to take the kids out of school at that time of the year. Plus the weather was perfect!
