9 days! Almost time to start packing.

I told all of my kids teachers today that we have to "go out of town" and somehow I convinced them not to say anything. Then when we got home my son suddenly wanted to get on the computer and price a trip to Disney for next September. I was able to keep a straight face the whole time. If he only knew!! This is going to be so much fun!!

If you really want to yank their chains, you should tell your kids that you're going on a trip for some reason they would find boring - like a business trip, a funeral for someone they never met or heard of, a wedding, etc. - so that when they pack they really have no idea of what you're up to until the very last second...

Amy, it really helps that I am such a Disney freak that my kids are just used to me talking about Disney all the time. They also know that I help plan trips for other people so they think that is what I have been doing for the past several months.

Mindflipper, I thought about doing something like telling them we were going somewhere boring, but my son will be very stressed out over missing school and I didn't want him worrying about it before we leave. I think once he realizes what is going on he will forget all about school!!

Ah-ha! Here is the thread I was looking for last night...
We might need to add a few days to our upcoming vacation ~ I want my Mom to be able to see everything and that is going to be a slower pace than our last vacation...so, has anyone ever had to add days to a vacation package after you already booked? Is it hard to do? Will they add on the extra free dining plan days too?

We might need to add a few days to our upcoming vacation ~ I want my Mom to be able to see everything and that is going to be a slower pace than our last vacation...so, has anyone ever had to add days to a vacation package after you already booked? Is it hard to do? Will they add on the extra free dining plan days too?

I added one day to this trip after I realized how much cheaper it is to fly on a Sunday than on a Saturday. I am sure it depends on availability but it was very easy to add on. And they added more free dining too. If it is less than 45 days before your trip I think you have to pay for the extra days right away. I think.

Thanks jlpeaches! We are having problems finding airfare anyhow and my Mom has more problems getting around larger spaces so I'm thinking a few extra days might be the answer to both problems
