Thanks, Yodiwan! That means a lot to me! Now it’s time for another update....
The Mousekecouple Invade WDW, Aug-Sept 2012.... Part 4.
Okay, Mouseketravel fans, this post is all about the evening we finally got to do what we’ve been looking forward to ever since our last trip in January: the Wine Pairing Dinner at Victoria and Albert’s. We had such a great experience then that we just had to do it again on this trip.
Since they have a strict dress code, and since Mouseoholic loves to dress up and do special romantic dinners anyway, we did just that. We decided to do the cheesy romantic thing and wear matching duds. Of course, as hot as the weather was, there was no way we were taking any stupid bus or anything while all dressed up! We took a taxi to the Grand Floridian!
Naturally she wanted to get pictures as soon as we arrived there:
The place is beautiful, of course:
And the dinner was even better, in my opinion, than the one we had last time. We wanted to get pics of the various courses so we could share them with y’all, but it was tough. You see, the ambience is all about being quiet, unobtrusive, and serene, so we didn’t want to create a distracting scene by taking a bunch of pictures with the flash going off and so forth. But the dim romantic lighting, although perfect for the occasion, made it hard to take decent pictures and still be discreet about it, so these are not as good as they could be. Anyway, here we go... and I’ll throw in a few comments here and there for each one. Note: I may not get all the courses in the right order, but... whatever...

.
This was the appetizer course. Some kind of cold Melon soup, with other stuff (I can’t remember what), and it was fabulous:
For one of my courses, I had the Turbot... a fish caught off the coast of Portugal, and highly prized in Europe. I thought it was delicious, but I also have to admit that I’ve had Sea Bass that was just as good,

:
I also had the Rabbit Tenderloin. It was outstanding!
The Rack of Lamb was “to die for”:
One of the courses that Mouseoholic really enjoyed was some kind of chicken thing with accessories (I can’t remember what she said all that stuff was, but it was VERY good):
And the dessert courses were absolutely fantastic, both in taste and presentation! Just check this stuff out:
At the end, they brought us out a rose for Mouseoholic, together with a special gift from our dear friend Soarin’08, who secretly arranged it ahead of time. The gift was a very nice bottle of one of our favorite wines. Here’s a shot of that scene, with the gift bag on the left:

(By the way, we loved the whole experience so much that we wanted to do it again the next night. We talked to the manager, who was a friend of Soarin’s, and she was able to get us a reservation for the next night. So we canceled the dinner we had scheduled at Jiko and came back again. Yeah, it was worth it!

)
Okay, so having finished up our epic dinner at V&A’s, we now went into the lobby to wait for Soarin’... who we had arranged to meet up with again for more mayhem. The plan was to go back to the Top of the World lounge again at BLT and enjoy the nightlife with some drinks and watching Wishes from the private observation deck. We enjoyed the live orchestra while we waited for Soarin’:
When Soarin’ arrived, she looked fabulous in a beautiful evening dress and matching accessories, so I had her pose with Mouseoholic for a quick picture...(can you tell Mouseoholic is ready to get on with the Mayhem..?

):
When we arrived at the Top of the World lounge, we managed to score a spot in a private seating alcove that we had all to ourselves. Here’s a shot of the ladies in the alcove, followed by a shot looking out of the alcove into the main lounge:
As for pics of the lounge itself, well.... I didn’t take very many shots of the whole thing... I was too busy just enjoying the whole experience. But I was particularly impressed with the light fixtures (I’ve already posted a picture of one of them in a previous post), so here’s another shot of one:
In a previous post I included a link to a website that has a lot of great pictures of the lounge, if you want to see more.
The music for Wishes was piped in, so we got to enjoy that from the private balcony. It’s not the same as actually being there on Main Street to see it, but it does offer a unique perspective on some of the fireworks. Here’s some of my favorite pics from this experience. You’ll notice in the second picture that I managed to capture the face of Aladdin’s Genie again, although it doesn’t quite look the same from this angle:
Well, that’s it for now. The next post is going to be all about our special sneak preview into the new Fantasyland stuff that Soarin’ arranged for us, complete with pics from Belle’s Castle and the characters from Beauty and the Beast. Stay tuned!
