2 weeks and 5 days . . . at this point, it's anybody's guess whether it'll be rainy and muggy or hot and dry when we're there. If there's rain, I hope it doesn't interfere with the Nightastic fireworks, since that's the whole point of the trip.

Rain wouldn't interfere with any fireworks. Maybe delay them a little depending on how hard it is raining. Lightning (I don't know how far away the lightning has to be for them to delay/cancel but I know it is within 30 miles out) on the other hand could outright cancel any and all fireworks shows for the night.

Weirdness is compatible with ours,
We join up with them and fall in
Mutual weirdness and call it Love.”

BD - I'm in!!!
I don't know if it counts, but I have a trip planned to Mindflipper's stomping grounds in just a couple of weeks. I'm going to try to weasel in a day trip to the WORLD, so I guess it fits with this thread. Mindflipper, you should be able to hear us coming as we'll be driving again and my 2yo doesn't like the car sometimes.

I call dibs on the guest room! It's a long trip for me up to Boiler Country, and I don't think I'm travelling back after a few of M-dude's Dole Whips without a night's sleep first.
Y'know, I only live a few hours from WDW and yet I never seem to be able to squeeze in a day trip.

Taking the family for a day trip? Doesn't it take a better part of a
whole day just to drive there?

Or are you planning on going to Florida anyhow and are squeezing in some bonus mouse time?

Amy - We are driving down to Jax. Then I'm flying back to Maryland leaving the family in Jax. Then fly back to Jax, then drive back to Maryland. Confused yet? I'll be down there for 2 weekends. I'm going to try and plan a day trip to WDW on one of those weekends. I can get to WDW from Jax in 2 - 2.5 hours.

Nope, that actually makes sense. Your kids will be so excited getting to go to WDW twice in such a short space of time. Better be careful or they might wonder why they can't go when Daddy and Grandma go in December

Well, word from the parks is that the Brazilian Tour Groups are back, and this time they have vuvuzelas. As usual, they're being just as discreet as a drunken hobo at a formal reception about using them. I really hope they're not still there at the end of the month, or at the very least I hope Security will have started confiscating the danged things by then.

Ok, I had to look vuvuzela up. I hope they aren't allowed to use them at the parks! That would be awful!
