Day 6
The Plan: US: DAK with my brother in the AM then ??? My Son: 4 parks in one day. ADR at POR-Boatwrights 6:15 (remember this was supposed to be an ‘off day’)
Actual:
My son got up before us because there was morning EMH at DAK that day and he wanted to get a jump on his adventure. I think he was out the door around 7! We slept in and generally dilly dallied until we finally made the trek to DAK. We don’t care for DAK and it shows…We didn’t even have it on the schedule until my Bro announced they were going there. It was good to see them there and we did a few things like ITTBAB and KS before they wanted to go to RPW and we decided it was time to roll. They decided that they would like to meet us for a beer at Epcot that night and check out Illuminations, could we make it? Could we make it??!!! Of course!!!

They arranged for a sitter (M-I-L) for their two small children and we said, “See ya later!”
Oh, yeah—we received the first text photo of our son on front of the Tree of Life at around 8.
Park one-Check! He told us later that he saw ITTBAB and Dinosaur!.
He had a CM take this one
I was telling my wife how awesome the Wilderness Lodge was, so we decided to go there—we took a bus there from DAK and checked it out. We milled around for a few and shopped a little bit then went to wait for a bus to POR. But then something else happened…we decided to go to the Beach Club and walk to the International Gate at Epcot—just because…
We received text #2 from my Son—he was at Club Cool in Epcot.
Two Parks: Check!
He had ridden Test Track and was headed out when Club Cool caught his eye. Next stop DHS—he was going to eat lunch there.
Oh a little more background info…My wife announced before this trip that this would be, “The LAST Disney Trip.” She enjoys going, but she wants to do other things. Things that we haven’t done before…So, I had that nagging thought in the back of my head and maybe part of me agreed with her. But part of me knew that I would weasel a trip back here either with or without her.

So as we disembarked at the Beach Club, we took that left toward Epcot she said…”Oh man, this is the heat—I never knew how close this was. This is where we need to stay next time.” Gotcha!! She always lays down the law and then she says that she knows how much I like going there, so she agrees and has a great time. It’s like a circle—but I always think that one day it will end for real. So far so good!
We did our usual and it never seems to get old. We ate a brat and a pretzel at Germany (OK ya got me---and a beer). We watched the China film that had eluded us all week because of timing. I love it, but my wife had never seen it. We walked into that preview area and they just opened the doors, so we walked right in.
Outside Italy:

At some point we received our 3rd text, our son was at DHS and he was eating lunch at the Commissary. He was going to ride ST and TGMR.
Park three—Check!
We figured it was time to head back for siesta so we rolled out, but not before I talked the Wife into one more SSE trip to the future.
At POR, we went and laid out at the pool… all the while I had an eye on the sky---it looked like rain all around us, but in the Happiest Place on Earth, it was bright, sunny and HOT. My wife fell asleep in the sun—always a good idea (lol) and I took a swim.
We decided to go to DTD and pick up some items for a co-workers daughter at the left-handed store/kiosk. As soon as we got on the bus—the bottom fell out. Man did it rain. We ducked between the raindrops through all the stores and as soon as we got our stuff, we decided to head back to POR…on the boat!---what possessed us to do that I have no idea. Maybe because the rain had lightened up, but it was cold and crappy on the boat and we had to dry the seat off. I remember asking the guy if they were running in the rain and he said they only stop if there’s lightning!
Cold, wet and tired we got back to the room and relaxed. The rain had quit, but it looked like it could start back at any time.
We were in the room when our son walked in. Surprised to see him already I asked him if he had abandoned his quest for immortality (around our house, anyway). He looked at me quizzically and said, “No, Dad, I am taking a mid-day break like we always do…” That’s my boy! He hung around for a little bit and left for park #4.
We had an ADR right here at the resort, but decided to cancel it and just eat at the food court. It actually worked out better for the DDP because we ate two ‘sit-down’ meals on Day 3 anyway.
Earlier we decided it would be quicker all around if my brother and his wife picked us up at POR and we drove over to Epcot…we thought that getting out of there via his car might be a little quicker for him than taking the bus back to POR (fighting that crush to the bus) and then him leaving from there. So my wife and I waited for him out on the road in front of the sign when I took this:

While we were waiting, we received text #4 that my son was at MK and he was about to check into his ADR at Liberty Tree Tavern.
Park #4-Check!!
He called me after a while and said he was having trouble understanding the server—I took that to mean he didn’t remember how to square up, but we sorted it out and all was well…or so we thought.
My bro and our wives rolled into Epcot around 7:15—we made a beeline for a beer in Canada---dee-lish! We did our usual stroll around the WS enjoying all the countries and showing my Bro around some other deeper areas of them. He is not as big a WDW fan as me, so a lot of this was all new.
Me and my Sweety:

We settled in to the area around Canada for Illuminations (mainly because that’s where we were when they started) and gradually moved towards England because we were downwind of the fireworks. They enjoyed them so much that they wanted to bring the kids back to see them the next night. We had planned on finishing our trip out at Epcot anyway, this worked out for us.
He drove us to POR (we got out of there in no time) and we told them that we would see them at Epcot the next day. We got there and my son had just walked in…Another great, magical day at WDW!
My son had now done something that none of us have done...good for him (his brother is jealous!)
