Nice ~ glad the computer is being friendlier today. One other question on the Magic Bands....do they feel like they have a secure closure. I've read differing viewpoints on how secure they feel once you fasten them. Some people have had no problems and others mention that you have to be careful not to catch the bands as they want to pop right open.jlpeaches255 wrote:My kids have their bands!!!! They do have a rubbery feel and in reference to feeling like a watch I know I will constantly be checking mine for the time lol! Can't wait for mine to come in! On a side note they do have a portion that can be pealed off (not easily) to make the band smaller for kids or adults with kid sized wrists. And finally the Fastpass system is cooperating with me today and I am well on my way to having things all planned out WHOOO HOOOO

It seems like it wouldn't take much to pop them open. I can give a better review next monthAmy wrote:Nice ~ glad the computer is being friendlier today. Re: Our Magic Bands have arrived!
After spending over 30 minutes on hold with Disney and then getting cut off, I STILL haven't gotten all of my reservations connected and I'm getting frustrated considering that we leave in 12 days! I just want to get our fast pass reservations set! Grrr....anyone know of easier ways to fix things?
We did get our MBs already -- only took two days -- and they are really pretty looking! lol I think I will have to fasten them pretty tight in order to not think about losing them. but they seem to be smooth enough where I don't think they will bother me. But we'll see!

I am still a little frustrated too. Working with the fastpass system is frustrating if your trip is anything out of the ordinary, multiple reservations, etc. Still working out the bugs I guess. The part so far that I like the LEAST is that it forces you to make 3 FP reservations even if you don't want 3. For those of you who haven't heard anything about if you are getting MBs yet, I received snail mail and email telling me I was invited to try out the new system AFTER I had gone on the website and already customize my bands.Belle1082 wrote:After spending over 30 minutes on hold with Disney and then getting cut off, I STILL haven't gotten all of my reservations connected and I'm getting frustrated considering that we leave in 12 days! Re: Our Magic Bands have arrived!
It took me quite a while to get everything straightened out, but finally got our FP set up for 8 people for 7 days. I'm beyond curious on how all of this is going to play out and if it will help or hurt our trip, but I'm optimistic. Hopefully we won't run into any big problems and we will be happy about the change. FINGERS CROSSED!

Please let us know how it all works out Belle! We are awaiting our MB's and I'm not sure about all of this yet, but we're excited anyway!

Re: Our Magic Bands have arrived!
I will for sure! So far, after getting through the mess of setting everything up, I'm very excited about having them. I know this might not be typical as to what other trips will be since they are still in the planning phase and not everyone has one, but I'm looking forward to not worrying so much about getting on certain rides in a certain amount of time, etc since things are planned out more. Plus, having the free dining is just the cherry on top!boilerbabe wrote:Please let us know how it all works out Belle! Re: Our Magic Bands have arrived!
BOO! I can't believe my trip is over!!!
It was fantastic, but I'm so sad it is over. But just for the record, I LOVED the Magic Bands!!! They were so convenient! It was so nice to have them to use as park tickets, fast passes and for our dining plan (esp since it was free!). I loved being able to set up things ahead of time, even if we didn't make every single one of our fast passes. It was a relief of not rushing to certain rides to get fast passes.
And the food stuff was slick too. Not dealing with money, but just being able to enter the 4 digit pin and be done with it - it was such a breeze!

So no glitches? And, did you link a credit card to your MB, to cover park purchases and tips on your dining? Just curious how it all played out.

Re: Our Magic Bands have arrived!
The only time there was any kind of a glitch was when we first got into the park and we needed to use our actual tickets they gave us to get it, but from then on we had no problems getting into the park. Just scan your band and do your finger print and you are good to go.cy1229 wrote:So no glitches? And, did you link a credit card to your MB, to cover park purchases and tips on your dining? We did link the credit card that was connected to our room to the band. No problems with making purchases that way. YOu have a 4 digit code that you have to enter any time do you any kind of purchasing (even if you have free dining, you still enter the pin). It was super slick and really not annoying at all to have on all the time. I'm kinda curious how it is going to progress once it is in full effect for everyone. But overall, I would give it two thumbs up!

LOLZ, people looking for problems now?
i would assume it worked just like the KTTW cards... since they all work the same way, whether it is an rf transponder giving the number or a mag stripe giving a number. this really is a mature system, i use RF card 20x a day to get into and out of var. areas in my building --even with the card cracked!
and i understand problems cropping up with RF transponders not activated and all that, but it should be about the same historically with bad KTTW cards, without the problem of demagnetization...

I would imagine people are looking for problems all the time, the company looks for holes to fix, guests look for holes to exploit for free things.

Re: Our Magic Bands have arrived!
There were a lot of earlier reported problems with not having reservations, credit cards, dining plans, etc. "showing up" when the bands were scanned. Presumably at this point all the glitches with the system have been worked out, but since Belle had made her reservations while all the issues were cropping up, I wondered if everything she had set up at home had gone through ok. Not really a ridiculous question when you think about it that way.dstrawn9889 wrote:LOLZ, people looking for problems now?

Re: Our Magic Bands have arrived!
Honestly - I was expecting more problems while they are still in a implementation phase, but we had no problems whatsoever. Our dining plan always showed up, every reservation was there, never had a problem with fast passes not showing up (even with the fact that I had made a couple fast pass reservations where half of our party had on ride and the other half had another). We always got into our room and didn't have any problems with charging or using our pin.cy1229 wrote:There were a lot of earlier reported problems with not having reservations, credit cards, dining plans, etc. "showing up" when the bands were scanned. I would say that they are fixing things quickly, before the holiday season. I can't wait to go back and use them again!
