We have pretty much exactly the same weather here in Houston as they do in Central Florida, so I can't really escape anything.
I think we are actually leaning towards going on the 9th. But, we won't buy tickets for a while.

The people who have tickets to the party are allowed in starting at 4 and the actually party officially starts at 7. So, 7 is when the park closes to regular guests and that's when they start checking wristbands or tickets or whatever they do now.Esmeralda wrote:I noticed the parks close early on the nights of the party. What time do they actually start shooing us out if we're not attending? Just trying to make some more detailed plans for our upcoming vacation - can't wait!!

They don't really shoo people out, per se. what they do, is much like spodie said: if you buy tickets for the oarty, you're allowed in a little before the party starts. you get a wristband which allows you to access anything that's open. once the party starts, the people without wristbands can just walk around, but can't participate in the free cookies/hot cocoa or do any attractions.

We're going next Thursday. I'm thinking we could ride a bunch that night and then get tickets for a second night to take in the Christmas shows. What do y'all think of that idea? My daughter and her friend are 14. This will be our first night and I know they'll want to ride.boilerbabe wrote:I'm so excited for you Cazza and Livvie's Mum! You will have a wonderful time. My husband and I were at Disney in early Dec. '06 for our honeymoon and we did the MVMCP, and we LOVED it so much we went a second night!!! The crowds are not bad in early Dec. and we didn't think the MK was too crowded on the party night. If you can stick around for the second parade, it's not as crowded. The fireworks are amazing. Make sure you enjoy the hot coca and cookies! Also, notice the "snow" on Main St. Have a Magical vacation!!!

I think if you have the money and the time (what with going to the other parks and such), then I say go for it.jujube wrote:I'm thinking we could ride a bunch that night and then get tickets for a second night to take in the Christmas shows. What do y'all think of that idea?

Unfortunately, no. You pretty much can't do anything without the wristbands. If a castmember sees you without a wristband, they will politely direct you to the exit. Not that I'm advocating this, but if you're really good, you may be able to dodge the CMs and stay for the parade/shows/Wishes...grumpyutboi wrote:can the people without wristbands go on rides? $300 extra dollars for 6 of us is rough to come by when we just spent $1398 on tickets.

We just attended MVMCP on 11/11 and it was wonderful! They've made a few changes from '06 with the parade and fireworks. We absolutely loved it!!! The snow is the best!
Too bad I cam home to real snow. I enjoy the Main St. snow better!!! I can wear sandals and I'm not cold.
Anyone that has the chance to go to MVMCP should definately do it!!!! Be sure to get a spot for the fireworks up near the castle to experience all the fireworks.

jujube,
When I went to both the MNSSHP and MVMCP both eith this year or last, we managed to do all of the attractions, and shows in one night. We did both on Sunday nights and if was a very lite crowd. One bit of advice I can give from doing this, is don;t waste any other tickets teh day you go. Sleep in , go to breakfast at a resort, do some shopping, maybe some mini-golf, then get to the park at 3:30-3:45ish. They let you in at 4, but this past October they let us in at 3:50. FInd out whihc rides wont be open at night(i think its really only COP and Jungle Cruise) Hit those if you want them, then you still have 8 hours to do everything. HAVE FUN!
