I'm going to DLR on the 9th of Dec with my daughter to celebrate her birthdday.
Does anyone have a favorite hotel within walking distance of the main gates??
I appreciate any help you can provide.

The best deal is the Howard Johnson with the Entertainment book rate. You can get a room for $55 a night, and its a nice clean property within walking distance of the resort.

Plus, HoJo operates the All Mighty Mattercam, so they deserve all the love they can get.
Vote for Pedro to put internet live cams in Disneyland Park

We have stayed at the Candy Cane Inn twice and loved it both times. Walking distance is about the same as HoJo. (I have never stayed at HoJo so don't know anything about it) They also have a free shuttle that runs on the half hour during park hours. I'm not sure what the rates would be at the time your thinking of though. There is a post in the Disneyland resort post area about the candy cane inn that you could refer to. Also they have a website you could check out as well.
Good luck on your search and have fun.

Stayed at the HoJo.... loved the room, wished it was a little closer to the entrance to the Esplanade.
Stayed at the Anaheim Desert Inn & Suites. DO NOT STAY THERE. Srsly.
Next time we plan on staying at the Tropicana Inn & Suites, we've heard good things.

Thanks for the help. Will not stay at the HOJO. Stayed there in 01 and had our car broken into. And not so much as a hint of an apology or any assistance in getting someone out to replace the window. But will try the candy cane inn. I've heard lots of good things about them/.
