Recommendation on Disney-specific travel agency...

Post by spaulo » Jul Wed 18, 2007 1:21 pm

Has anyone used one of the Disney travel agencies to plan their WDW trip? I'm considering using one this time around (they're free, after all) but am not sure who to go with... my options appear to be:

Small World Vacations:
http://www.smallworldvacations.com/

Dreams Unlimited:
http://www.dreamsunlimitedtravel.com/

Magical Travel:
http://www.magicaltravel.com/

Mouseketrips:
http://www.mouseketrips.com/

Anyone use any of these? Know of any others? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
~Steve

I haven't used any travel agency besides AAA. I loved the benefits we got when we went in December last year. here's a rundown of the perks we got by booking through AAA:

-Preferred parking VERY close to the front gate of each park. the parking spaces reserved for AAA Diamond parking are located right behind/next to the handicapped spaces.
-keepsake luggage tag (1 per person)
-Diamond card which give up to 20% off dining, 20% off recreation activities, 15% off spa services, 10% off merchandise at the world of disney store, 15% off all tours.
-Hertz rental car upgrade
-Hertz complimentary child seat
-$15 gift certificate to Planet Hollywood
-Certificate for extra 30 minutes when you buy 60 on the Sea Raycers
-One round of miniture golf at Fantasia Gardens or Winter Summerland
All other benefits of staying at a disney resort (EMH, Dining plan, etc)

I believe the discount on the room was also about 20%. I know based on todays prices, a campsite at the Fort Wilderness Campgrounds (where I priced my trip for) is $944.18 on the official site, but only $863.06 when booked through AAA for the same thing

I use Mouse Fan Travel and couldn't be happier. http://www.mousefantravel.com

On your list, Small World Vacations is great. I know the owner, Sue Pisaturo, and she knows her stuff to say the least.

This is the first time I used a TA, and I've liked my experience so far... I used www.themagicforless.com and got Deb as my TA.

I didn't see The Mouse for Less on your list. They have their own website (themouseforless.com) where you can get great ideas on saving money on a Disney trip. And their travel agents are absolutely fantastic! One of the services they offer (don't know if the rest do) is if you book your trip and then later some special comes thye look for that kind of thing and will send you an email letting you know that something magical happened and how much money you're going to save. I've been very happy with them in the past and would highly recommend them.

I know AAA will call you if a better deal comes along as well.

I was an obsessive plan it yourself person where WDW was concerned but when we did the cruise a couple of years ago we actually went through Small World Vacations -- I had emailed several travel agents for quotes and just liked the speed and way in which they responded (I also liked the fact that Mousesavers recommends them). The prices weren't actually that different for all the quotes. Since then I have used them for every trip. They have been fantastic in responding quickly, being persistent with Disney about things, putting up with our changing our minds about ADR's and resorts and just generally being a pleasure to deal with. I highly recommend them.

Hi Chris, it's fun to see a fellow agent from MEV here! 8) I've actually got Steve and his wife in my care and just saved them a ton of cash with the new special that came out last Thursday! :D

Enjoy the site - the music will bring you back everytime!

Wow, I didn't even know these existed! We always made the reservations ourselves or used AAA.

Or, like me, you refer so much business to your travel agent based on the service you received that she ultimately suggests you join the agency yourself - and you do! :D

Of course, last time I was to the parks was 1997 (DL) and 2000 (WDW). The internet wasn't quite as big then to have these links around, I don't suppose. Haha.
