Also, while you are there, go for an appetizer and a glass of wine at the 5-star Napa Rose in the Grand Califonian. Eating an entire meal there will break your bank, but you get the whole affect with a snack and a drink.

Grand Californian for adults!
1. amenities are better
2. atmosphere is very tranquil
3. newer, cleaner

Disneyland Hotel for kids!
1. Neverland pool
2. fireworks are great from the room.
3. room key still provides entrance from Grand Californian to DCA
4. cheaper than GC

Really, any of the three are great!

I just went and we booked through the Disney site. We stayed at the Embassy Suites - North. It was nice and the price wasn't bad. They had a queen bed and a sofa bed, so it slept all of us quite comfortably. The free breakfast they have it TOTALLY worth it...eggs, pancakes, hasbrowns, made-to-order omelets and more. It was definately family friendly and one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in.

I have stayed at the Howard Johnson right off Harbor Blvd. too several times and it is nice as well. It wasn't available for the last trip I just got back from, otherwise I would have stayed there again.

The Embassy Suites - North is about 5 miles away from Disneyland, but VERY easy to get to from the Park. It was far enough away that you could find food places, gas stations or whatever for reasonable prices. :mickey:
