OKW
BCV
SSR

We have stayed at each of the DVC resorts, and the only one we are not crazy about is WLV. It is just too dark for us. We love the resort, but the rooms are dark to us. We are more tropical people, I guess. Do you have a favorite?

WOW - I'm jealous! You wish you could go for 2 weeks and I wish I owned at all 3! We would like to stay at WLV this December but I have to wait for the 7 month window. Haven't stayed there yet - we've stayed at the Lodge itself twice, (which we loved) but not at the villas.

We haven't stayed at VWL or HH yet. Hope to stay at VWL this winter and not sure yet at HH. We stayed at Vero for a week 2 summers ago. You should love it when you do go. The only thing for us was that a week was to long. Four days would be perfect . . . you can only lay out at the beach and pool so much and then ya gotta do something else. We did a little sight seeing and did a 1/2 day fishing excursion. Ate at Captian Hirams in town twice. Even with all that, we still got bored after 4 days. The kids had a ball, though. Met up with kids their own age and they spent all their time with them. Only saw them when it was time to eat. Great memories. :D

If WLV were the only choice for my trip, it would be o.k., just my last choice. When we are there, we love taking the boat to Ft. Wilderness and eating at Trail's End.

When we stay in a studio we prefer BCV or SSR. but when we are in a 1 or 2-bedroom we love OKW. I would be happy if all our points were at OKW. We have not stayed in a GV yet, but I really would love to do that soon.

Maybe you could trade points with a WLV owner and get your Dec trip, otherwise it might be difficult. Do you frequent the DIS Boards?

Yes I do. I'm not sure how I feel about trading, though. Our home resort is OKW and I don't know how many people would be interested in trading. I'll probably take my chances at 7 months out and hope for the best. I'm only looking for 2 studios.

Yes, I'm still lovesdisney44. I frequent the boards alot, but don't necessarily post. I post here the most. How often do you make trips to Disney? Do you fly/drive? And, if you don't mind me asking, how many total points do you have? We have 350 which allows us to go 1-2 times a year and bring someone with us one time each year. :D

We have a total of 425 points

150 OKW
100 BCV
150 SSR
25 OKW add-0n

Now, if we are lucky and they end up doing something at the Contemporary, I would definitely add-on there, too.

I am lucky in that I have been able to make my purchases with Cast Member discounts combined with incentives, so it worked out really well for us.

We both fly and drive. If all 3 of us go we usually drive. If it is just hubby and I we fly. We have taken as many as 6 trips in one year. But let me also say that I used to work for the Disney Store and son did the College Program and then last summer he and girlfriend went back and worked at the marina at DTD. So I also got great Cast Member rates on rooms for weekends. The drive for us is 9-11 hours, depending on the time of year. I have left here at 3:00 in the afternoon and was checking in at the front desk a couple of minutes before midnight, so it isn't too bad a drive. We have just made that drive so many times that we prefer to fly and lately our trips have been more like long weekend trips, not a whole week.

I don't post a whole lot on the DIS Boards, until somebody says something really stupid, and then I have to reply. It seems like it is the same questions all the time. I use the DIS mainly for information gathering.

I am also waiting to add on if they add the Contemporary.

How'd you get Cast Member discounts - while working at the Disney Store? How'd your son like the College Program? My son would like to do it in 2 years when he's a sophmore in college.

I also use the DIS for info. gathering. :D

My son loved his College Program. He was fortunate to be a lifeguard at SAB and he loved it there. You may remember reading a thread about a kid that had seizures and stopped breathing while at SAB. My son was the first responder on the scene. To help save someone put his whole job into perspective.

I must say that there are a lot of kids that go on the CP thinking it is going to be a paid vacation, and they usually don't make it and get sent home. The CP kids work really, really hard, but it is a wonderful experience, great on the resume' and they learn a lot of life skills dealing with the public. :P

Yes, got my discount while at the Disney Store, with the exception of the last OKW add-on, and then I used my son's discount, which at the time was 25%.

No one in the family is a CM right now, sad, sad for me. Once you get used to those dicounts they are hard to give up. :(

What a life changing experience for your son and that child to have a life saved.

Can you please explain what you mean by "they don't make it and get sent home"? Do they get fired, or quit?

Finally - did you get a discount on DVC membership when your son was in the CP?

some of them just quit, and some of them don't show up for work or are late or whatever. Disney doesn't let them get by with but so much and then you get canned.

Yes, I used his discount when he was on the CP. You just have to have a copy of their ID. The discount comes off the top, and then whatever incentives DVC is doing at the time comes next. It makes it too easy to do add-ons.

That is so great to know. THANK YOU! :D Looks like we'll be doing an add on in 2 years!
