Just Back - a few observations

Post by jkm8113 » May Fri 20, 2005 10:28 am

I got back from a few days at WDW, not all vacation, but did get some time in the parks. A few things I noted:

The newly decorated castle is just fabulous. I have never been a huge castle fan, but I think it looks just beautiful and would love it if they would leave it like this all the time. Everytime we were in the MK, there were photographers with theier tripods, both Guests and Disney photo people trying for that "perfect" shot.

The large selection of pins in Exposition Hall at MK is gone and has been moved down the street to the Jewelers.

Soarin' was really great. The Lights, Motors show was really impressive, but due to "safety issues" we didn't see the whole show. The new food court in The Land is really nice, but very different food from before. Great sandwiches on bakery bread. If you get the ham, it is huge, I could only eat half, and my appetite is not a small one. Turtle Talk with Crush is just the best. Do not miss that in The Land.

Remember the small brass statues of Chip and Dale and Pinocchio, etc. that were on pedastals in the circular area right in front of the caste. They are no longer there. Also, almost all of the benches that were in that area were gone this past week.

I will add more observations as I think of them.

Thanks for the news, jkm8113! Did you have a chance to see the construction progress on Everest?

Saw it from the bridge into Africa, and it is really coming along. It is now a VERY, VERY impressive site. You san see the top of Everest from many different spots in the AK. We didn't take the walkway that gets you closer by, may do that next trip in early June.

Thanks for the update jkm8113. Was WOL open at Epcot?

We never even got on that side of Future World. This was a fast and furious short trip, and our time in EPCOT was all spent at the Land and the Living Seas. Sorry I can't answer your question on that one.

In MK, COP was open. I only mention that because I know it is seasonal, too, and if COP is open, not sure if WOL is open also.

I hope that they are just getting cleaned off again, They did it once before because the oils from people touching them all the time built up so much they looked kind of uck!

The statues were back during my last trip in July 2005, looking as adorable as ever.
