In reality, and I think MadEye would back me up on this, the true reason WDW doesn't decorate well for the holidays is that TDO are a bunch of cheap b*stards. It is interesting to see how DLR, TDL and DLP will decorate for occassions but WDW - not well. In fact, I think the Halloween decorations it used recently were recycled from TDL (probably was shipped off to WDW after TDL had replaced them and needed the warehouse space)...

Point of note, if I recall, DCA and DTD only do some decor during december and that's it. I don't think we have anything for october (outside of the times that DCA did the halloween events), while DLR does.

Alright, people, MintJulepRoo is allowed to have his/her opinion on which park is the most liked. We all have different parks we consider our favorites (although I'm sure those selecting the Animal Kingdom is probably a very small minority)...

Animal Kingdom has always been #4 in the rankings for me. The narrow walkways is one that makes me nuts. Inevitably, someone with a double-wide stroller stops in the middle of the path, and bottlenecks everything up. I like the wide walkways of both EPCOT and MK much better.

As for the comparisons between DL and MK??? I think Disneyland has it's charm, but MK is wonderful! I do miss a couple things however that MK doesn't have, The Blue Bayou, the One-of-a-Kind Shop, the hand-dipped CornDogs, and Main Street in DL. But hands down, Florida wins for me! WDW has so much more to offer for so many people. MK, EPCOT, HS & AK gives such a variety that there is something for everyone!

I remember we went to AK shortly after it opened and had a family member in a wheelchair. Not only were the walkways narrow, but they were bumpy and uneven (which I was told was intentional in the design to be that way). Aside from the bumpy ride in the wheelchair, I can't remember how many people I saw tripping on the pavement. It was another item in a list of many things that made the AK one of worst all-time theme-park experiences (not just Disney, but ALL of theme).

As for AK being a great park...I can see that for people not used to the lush greenery that we have in the Southeast. I would be willing to bet AK would be where Walt would have spent a lot of his time since he loved wild animals so much.

Yes I reside in the Southwest...This is what I see where I live...

This is what I saw at AK...

Just a beautiful place. I like it the same reason I like The Wilderness Lodge better than The Contemporary Resort. Both nice but one just suits my taste more!

That's beautiful! Although I can see where you would enjoy seeing lush greenery on vacation. I bet you can grow some wicked lovely cactus out there huh?!

Yes!! I do think the desert is nice but sometimes the brown dirt and brown rocks get boring

But the pic above is the Aztec Ruins. They are very mysterious and beautiful. Yes lots of cactus, sage brush and red rocks. And we don't have tornados, hurricanes, earthquakes, excessive blizzards or flooding. It is a nice place to live for sure.

This is my backyard. We have the daunting task of having to landscape it with desert xeroscape. Should be fun!

Do you have to xeriscape, or is it strongly suggested due to conserving water? Looks like a completely blank canvas for sure!

They build a water conservation garden a few streets away near a park. It looked nice, but you have to want the more natural look for your yard.

Ha! Tatooine!!! If we had a backyard, it probably would look a lot like that. Xeriscape is popular here too and it is encouraged city-wide to make the switch.

I love that video and I could watch it over and over...hysterical!!!

I love when stormtroopers get in on the action. At the D23 Expo in 2009, there were stormtroopers all over because of the announcement of ST2. We got a pic of one with a pair of Mickey ears on!

What personalities!!!
