We are locked in for the half marathon for sure, but I am already scheming to go down for a quick trip in late summer just to ride ST 2.0.
Just me and my boys.
Drive down Friday--Sat all day at MGM. errr, DHS--drive home Sunday.
Crazy? Yes, but It should hold me over until the week of the marathon

Make it late August and I'll meet you at Yeehaw Bob's place and buy you a beer.... or two...

It would be an easier drive if any of the boys were able to help out on the driving, H! Be prepared - it can get hot down there in the summer!

I love AKL. it's my home resort and I have stayed there several times. There is just something about waking up and going outside to your balcony and seeing giraffes right in front of you. If you like the decor/theming of Africa at AK then you would LOVE the lodge. I'll try to take some pics this time.

We have never stayed at the AKL but we have spent plenty of time lurking in the lobby and in some of the viewing areas. I have a thing for giraffes!

Way to go Bigyowski, have a great time and I'm sure Bay Lake Towers will be just as good. Just a short walk to MK. Even shorter to contemporary and the monorail to Epcot and a short stumble home after a tour of drinking round the world.

We'll be doing a split stay at OKW and BLT.

We specifically got the Park Hopper option just so we could go to Epcot any day we wanted...for the food and drinks.

But seriously, I've been down there a couple times on this weekend. It was not so busy during the week and then real busy once Friday came. It might have seemed busier than it was b/c it was real quiet during the week. And also the hot weather didn't help. But it does pick up. The more popular rides routinely have a wait of 90 minutes, usually more. Fastpasses generally have you returning four to five hours later.
