I think one is "family-only" - and even the kids will get to the parks on that date...Amy wrote:Are any of them girl-friendly?!NaCler wrote:I MAY have 2 different dates coming up... Or are they "wild-guy" only dates?

I'm proud of you, NaCler, for taking the kids along, even though they can ruin the whole "Disney Atmos"...

Yeah, sometimes you have to "take one for the team" so to speak. I have to be a cool dad every now and then...mindflipper wrote:I'm proud of you, NaCler, for taking the kids along, even though they can ruin the whole "Disney Atmos"...![]()

Yes ma'am... The boys and I are flying down to JAX for the weekend with grandma and pop. We are taking a day and a 1/2 trip to WDW. This is March 24th. Probably MK during the day, then DTD the next day before returning to JAX. The boys love the TREX restaurant. So, I think we'll hit that before we leave. I'll definitely tell Madre that you were asking about her.F1gment wrote:Anything with your Momma included? I enjoyed her company very much. Anxious to hear all the dates!!

Amy: awesome “Day 6” report, and great pictures! Good times!
NaCler: how exciting that you can go back so soon. Sure wish we could join you…
And now, on with the show.
Day 10, Thursday 12-9-10
Well, the trip is winding down... only a few days to go. Today we planned to take it easy. We had a 9:30 a.m. breakfast ADR at Crystal Palace, but nothing else of significance planned. It was still very cold, and Mouseoholic was battling some kind of bug. Fortunately I hadn’t gotten sick yet, but I was okay with taking it easy for her sake. Remember, I’m more of a “stop and smell the roses” vacation kinda guy anyway… So we got up and made our way to MK, arriving in plenty of time to ride BTMRR. Here I am entering the queue with the “Lanyard of Power” as I call it (you know: the tag they give to a random guest to pass along to the CM at the ride so they can update the wait times). Funny thing about those Lanyards of Power is that between myself and Boilerdude, we must have gotten them at least 6 or 8 times on this trip. I guess we just had a certain look about us that made the CM’s want to give them to us (confession: I still have one. I actually found it on the counter in a restroom one day. I just seemed to attract those things…
)

When we finished BTMRR, we casually wandered back down toward Crystal Palace. We still had time before our ADR, so we checked out the sights in Frontierland, then stopped in Sir Mickey’s and Bippity Boppity Boutique just to look around a little:

Finally it was time for breakfast. We love this place, and always enjoy interacting with Pooh and Piglet:

After breakfast we decided to just wander aimlessly, take in the sights, and try to get a few decent pictures:

At one point we caught part of the Celebration parade on Main Street:

I got in touch with the Boilers to see if we could all meet up at the Poly marina to rent SeaRaycers. It would have been really cold on the water, but we wanted to do it anyway. Unfortunately, the marina was closed. So it looked like no SeaRaycers today. I was totally bummed. So the Boilers decided to do something else (I can’t remember what…), and we wandered around MK a little longer, trying to decide what to do. Mouseoholic wasn’t feeling well at all, so we decided to head back to the Boardwalk for a resort break, and enjoyed some “people watching” on the way out. Some of the characters on Main Street were really fun…

…and we also got a kick out of this one little girl who hadn’t yet learned how to “just say no to crack.” Of course, after I took the picture we politely let her father know about the situation:

After a nap and a break at the resort, we decided to take an afternoon stroll around Crescent Lake. Mouseoholic still wasn’t feeling well, but it was a beautiful afternoon despite the cold, and I felt like the fresh air might do her good. She was a good sport about it, and tagged along faithfully while I took a bunch of pictures:

Mouseoholic had sat down to rest on a bench in front of the Beach Club while I walked on to the Yacht Club taking more pictures. When I got to the Marina, I discovered that they were open, and there were SeaRaycers available to rent! Woo hoo! So I called Mouseoholic on the cell phone and begged her to come with me. So she agreed to come, and I went ahead and got the rental paperwork started while I waited for her to get there. She wasn’t happy at all about going out on the water in the cold with the way she was feeling, but like the wonderful woman she is, she did it anyway because she knew how much it meant to me. As it turns out, she had a really nice time. And we got some great pictures from angles and perspectives that just wouldn’t have looked the same from anywhere else but in a boat:

After that, we went back to the Boardwalk and enjoyed the dinner offerings at the Concierge lounge. Then we watched Illuminations from the special viewing balcony (the lounge is on the fourth floor). Tired and satisfied, we retired to our room to find that the turn-down service had left us another nice greeting card and some taffy on the bed (they did this every evening), and Mouseoholic’s new pet was waiting for her as well:

A nice end to a relaxing day. We had managed to enjoy ourselves despite poor Mouseoholic’s having been sick all day.
Hopefully I’ll have the next day ready to post before NaCler gets back from his next trip…

Excellent pics and report M-Dude! I wish I had time to relax and take in the sights we overlook so often, but my trips are always too short. Case in point, my next trip. I believe we are driving to Disney on a Friday and driving back Saturday. Short and Sweet.
You can really tell that Mouseoholic does not feel well in your pictures. She truly is a good woman to keep up with you when she was feeling so bad... I liked the pic that shows her wearing sandals on her feet, while wearing gloves on her hands! haha... I hope she is doing well now, please tell her we miss you guys around here.

The one where she is sitting in the rocking chair? I was thinking how relaxed she looked in that photo. They go longer than you or I do so they can find some time to chill (especially when the weather is cold enough to chill you as well)...NaCler wrote:You can really tell that Mouseoholic does not feel well in your pictures. If they go again with the boilers next year, I would love to take more than a day the next time around...

Thanks, guys!
Yeah I thought it was pretty funny that she was wearing gloves, yet had open sandals on her feet.
As for planning another trip, it's starting to look like we may not be able to go this year. There is a slight chance that maybe by January or February of 2012 we might be able to do it, but it's hard to say this far out. We'll just have to see how the year goes.

Sorry to hear that, M-dude. But if you're going to delay until the first of 2012, you may want to delay a bit longer and go when the Fantasyland Expansion opens.Mousekedude wrote:Thanks, guys!![]()

On a sidenote, I'm glad to see you back around here posting on Subsonic. Your absence diminishes the mayhem around here.
