I did online check-in last time.
You can do it anytime from 10 days until the day before. It helps a LOT!
You pretty much walk up, grab your welcome package and go.
Unless you like standing in ridiculous lines at the hotel AND the parks, I would do online checkin.
But that's just me

Totally agree. We always do online check-in. We haven't yet this time because we're still 15 days out, but Mousoholic is definitely watching the clock on this one!

The only thing they can do is confirm in their notes that you've actually made the special requests. As far as whether they are able to grant them or not, you have to wait until you arrive and see which room you got before you'll know. But when you do, they can often make some adjustments for you on the spot. We've had that happen a couple times.

Definitely! I will totally miss your trip reoprts!!!

At least you guys are close enough to take a day trip and resort hop, ride the monorail, hang out on the beach and watch the fireworks...etc So you won't have to be totally void of Disney magic. (though I could see where that almost might be worse...knowing you can't go into the parks )
