I have heard that some holidays that people try to avoid tend to be good days to actually go. I think my best friend said something about the day after Thanksgiving or so being good? It was one of those days. I know people would be spending most of the time at the malls and such to not bother even THINKING about visiting Disney.Amy wrote:I would expect it to be absolutely jammed! I have only ......... days/months till I go again.

I would spend the day after Thanksgiving at Disney if I lived closer! Nothing can be worse than the shoppers in the stores (or on the roads or in the parking lots!) on that dayelizabethswann wrote:I have heard that some holidays that people try to avoid tend to be good days to actually go. We are putting off a trip until the Fantasyland expansion is done. Our girls are princess fanatics. The youngest especially loves Ariel and she would be devastated to see Ariel's grotto gone. I made the mistake of mentioning it to her, and she burst into tears. It is very difficult to wait that long. I'm trying to get my husband to agree to a quickie trip because I'm almost out of Disney resort shampoo, and Disney soap from the Basin store in Downtown Disney. Getting a refill on both is a good enough excuse for me to take another trip. I hope he agrees.

Tell us more about this Disney soap from the Basin store...what is it? Is it shaped like Disney characters? Does it come in different flavors? Do tell!

The last 2 years we have been at Disney over Labor day and it is a GREAT time to go. (IF a hurricane is near the place is VERY empty.) Everyone is in school and even though its hot we usually go for 7-10 days and do the parks in the early morning, swim, eat and nap. This year Dd started school before Labor Day so we couldn't go.elizabethswann wrote:No luck going before school started. I pray that I will get a chance maybe next month or so! Anyway, 101 days to go!

My youngest is 6. She is fanatical about Ariel. The soap from Basin is glycerine with Mickey heads in it. It came in all kinds of different scents. It looks like it was molded in a loaf pan and then they slice it. So you buy it by the slice. I tried to find it online, but wasn't able to.Amy wrote:How old is your youngest? That soap sounds cool! Is it only available at the Basin store in DTD? Or can you find it in other places? Is it terribly expensive?

That soap is really cool! We have some too!
You can also get it at the Grand Floridian, they have a shop there with all the soaps.

Ahaha, sobs. I looked on MouseWait earlier and saw that most of the rides were less than a half hour in wait times ON A WEDNESDAY. I checked again and even Space Mountain is about a 15 minute wait. CURSE YOU, SCHOOL.
Kidding. I need school.

We were also going to put off going until the Fantasyland expansion is complete. However, this year but so many of our fellow Subsonicers are going to be there and we just cannot pass up this opportunity to meet everyone. Otherwise we would be vacationing somewhere else. The fact that MSEP is extended is a big plus.flamingolady wrote:We are putting off a trip until the Fantasyland expansion is done. Our girls are princess fanatics. As for Disney soap, that may be one of the best kept secrets! I usually keep the shampoo and soap from the resort and use it to get my Disney fix. I will for sure have to get some of the Mickey Soap.
Thanks for the tip B-Babe. We will be at the GL for a dinner or two and will have to get some there if I don't make it or remember to get it at Downtown Disney.
