Post by Just Believe » Oct Tue 17, 2006 7:14 pm

I got this book in 2002 and fell in love with it!!! It gives out SO MUCH INFO!!! It gave me access to knowing the Resort like I do with DL. Just skimming through it gets anyone excited for their soon to be trip! :D
Do you think have enough time to go the bathroom before the next show?

It's one of the better ones with photos and such. Jennifer and Dave Marx's Passporter is probalby the best overall guidebook out there.

I dont think you can go wrong with most of the guidebooks out there but it irks me to get Birnbaum because it's a marketing book from Disney. Give me the unofficial guide or Passporter any day

We buy one every year we go. We first got it many years ago for the information on the height restrcitions.(we have children, all grown up now). Today we have access to the internet so we buy it as memorabilia for that year. Kind of a time capsule, what was new that year, and what is not there anymore. Great fun just sit'n on the couch thumb'n thru the pages. I tell everyone who is going to buy one. Sometimes it has good coupons in the back.

I love Birnbaum's, especially for the official news. On the other hand the Unofficial Guide is just a blast. It's too huge to sit down and read very easily, but I just open it up to any page and am amused.

I especially liked the guests' comments on Snow White's Scary adventures. One little girl cried the whole time in terror while her grandpa just kept saying "Where the @#$% is Snow White?!"
Drop another coin in slot and I will tell you more.

official guide is better for the pics and official news but the unofficial is better with planning, humor, and is just better overall

If you want pics, go to Google images and official news? You mean things everyone knows well before it's announced? I just have a hard time drinking the kool-aid

We have both the birnbaums and the unnofficial guide. Both are good but would have to give the edge to the Unofficial because it has more content.

The official guide just won't tell you when something is lame or not just worth your time. I love the reader comments and the 'say it as it is" statements in the Unofficial Guide.

Arete did a report on EPCOT more than twenty-years ago for a school project and one of the books she got out of the library as a reference was "The Unofficial Guide". It was an older version at the time, so we went out and bought the newest version and have been buying it yearly since. I give old versions away to people planning trips. I kept the last version that was edited by Birnbaum himself before he passed away. Right next too it sits the latest version.

I have both Birnbaum's and the Unofficial Guide at home. I like Birnbaum's for the "Disney" feeling it has and the Unofficial Guide because it just has an insane amount of information in it. I never knew how big it was until it arrived on my doorstep. It's definitely a good nightstand book as well as a decent bathroom reader since it's broken up into smaller sections. And yes, the comments in there are pure gold!
