Disney Studios, Magic Kingdom and MNSSHP in the Same Day?
I'm planning our next trip to WDW and since we only have two full days, I'm trying to squeeze in as much as possible. Disney Studios always seemed like a half-day trip. Does anyone think it is doable it to hit that, then spend the afternoon at MK and spend the night at the Halloween Party?
Should be a piece of cake! I usually spend two-three hours at MGM and I'm done, anyway. Hit Rock'n Rollercoaster and Tower of Terror and you've pretty much hit everything there, as far as I'm concerned (unless you have kids, then shoot for Bear in the Big Blue House, as well). It shouldn't be a problem, regardless, though. What are you doing on the other day, though? I would try to combine MGM with Animal Kingdom if you have plans to go there. Both are half day parks for me when I go. MK is much more of a full day one.
Although we've never had a problem filling a day at MGM, I guess you could do it in a half day. We really like the Muppets and Star Tours, and would not miss Fantasmic. You could do AK in the morning, followed by MGM in the afternoon. That would allow you to see Fantasmic to end your day. However, the Halloween Party would have to be done on the other day.
I agree that it depends on what you are planning to do on the other day.
It also depends on how many times you've been there before. Personally, I don't see how either MK or EPCOT could be squeezed into a half a day.
A two day visit is really tough to plan. You might be best off just picking your two favorite parks, and give them each a full day. I guess it all comes down to what your priorities are. Good luck.

We plan to skip AK completely. Of the five peple going, only my fiance has any desire to go there (and that is just because she's a huge Lion King fan). Unless we fly in early on Thursday, I think we'll miss AK.
Here is what I've got planned thus far:
Friday morning: Hit the high spots of MGM
Friday afternoon: See what we can of the MK
Friday night: Go to the Halloween party and do everything we couldn't do in the afternoon.
Saturday: EPCOT
Sunday: Character breakfast at Chef Mickey's and time at Downtown Disney before the plane leaves.
As I said in my origninal post, we're trying to cram as much in as possible in two full days. My family is leaving it up to me to plan this trip and I just want to make sure what I'm planning is doable.

I think it can be done. You may only have time for a couple of attractions at MGM (Tower of Terror & Rock 'n' Roller Coaster if that's what you want). Fastpass might allow more. Then you would have to hit just your favorites at MK. You will want to prioritize attractions in advance. Remember that the parks are usually most crowded in the afternoon.
If you've been to MGM before you can DEFINITELY do everything in half a day. Very little has changed over the past handful of years aside from the new rides and a couple of good kid shows. I rarely go there, anymore, and when I do it's only for the two thrill rides and to let the kiddies watch the shows.
Good luck!
Good luck!

Since most of the rides at MK are open during MNSSHP and since it is a hard ticket event, I wouldn't think there would be much of a problem getting on any rides we can't get to during the day. I hope that is a fair assumption.
As far as MGM goes, ToT, Rock n Roller Coaster, Star Tours, Muppet*Vision 3-D, the Great Movie Ride and the Backlot Tour (if it is even open. I read somewhere it was not) are the rides we definately want to hit. If we are there when the park opens and utilize FastPass, hopefully we can get it all in and have some afternoon time at MK.

I dont think so, especially if you want to see the new Stunt Show at MGM and Fantasmic!. MGM is at the least a 3/4 day park but with repeating rides and all, it's a full day park. Admittadly, I am a bit bias when it comes to MGM but that's my honest opinion.

My only words of wisdom are to make sure you get in some rest time in the afternoon if you plan on making MNSSHP a full night. If you haven't been to MNSSHP before, it is really, really cool. It is a long night with much to see and do besides rides. If you have done MK and MGM before, just make sure you do all the cool things at MNSSHP that you have never done. The Headless Horseman is incredible and there is some great trick or treating over in ToonTown with characters you don't often see, like all the cards from Alice in Wonderland and there are great photo ops with pirates over in Adventureloand, stuff you normally don't do and see. Our first time, we didn't get in any rest and it was a long, long night, and we are commando type people.
