January, February, or March for Disneyland?

Post by hockeygirl » Dec Tue 08, 2009 2:31 pm

I'm thinking about going back down to DL. I ended up upgrading to a premium AP so I have no blackout dates. I can't go the end of February because I'm going to head north and watch the Olympics for a few days. But I'm trying to decide when the best time to go would be. I really need the mental break. Between my health stuff and finding out that one of my best friends in my support group died last night, I just really need some happy time. When would y'all go?

Sorry to hear about your friend! I think I would go ASAP, and make sure I took some time to remember my friend while I was there. Going early will let you see the parks decorated for the holidays too.
No really, see? It's a screwdriver and it's... sonic

I am so sorry for your loss!

Since you've seen the parks all decorated for the holidays, I'd say maybe March since the weather should be nicer then. The only thing is, I'm not sure when the Spring Breaks start. You definitely don't want to be there during that time...waaayyy too crowded...especially with an ECV. It also depends on what attractions you want to see. This is the time of year when different attractions close for their annual refurbishments. Here is the link for the calendar...

I like going in January because the crowds are light...especially during the week.

Have fun in Vancouver! Lucky dog! :) What events are you going to watch?

Thanks! It wasn't unexpected, but it still hits hard when it happens. She was one of those people that you just thought was going to beat the odds and live forever. I keep looking at the email and thinking it's not true, I'm reading it wrong.

I like the idea of remembering her there. The last time I talked to her was the day before I left to go to DL. She was so excited for my trip. I think she would like that.

I definitely don't want to do Spring Break. Maybe I'll do the tail end of January. After seeing what's being refurbbed, I can live with those things. Canoes (who wants to canoe in the middle of winter anyway?), Mark Twain (which I just rode) and the Columbia (I can ride that later).

We have tickets to Freestyle Aerials, Women's Hockey, and curling or speed skating, I can't remember which. I can't wait to go.

End of January might be nice. The whole Rivers of America is going to be closed until May I think.

I love watching the Aerials! I've never seen them in person, but I'll bet it will be thrilling!

I like low crowd times. I'm not to worried about Rivers of America. Interesting that they didn't list Tom Sawyers Island in the closures. I guess people are just going to walk to it? ha ha ha

I love watching the aerials too. That was my mom and I's choice. It should be neat to see.

Also remember that Small World and the Haunted Mansion are closed part of January to remove the holiday overlays. HM re-opens the Jan 14th, but Small World doesn't re-open until Jan 28th.

Hmm, that's a good point. I like those... Hmm, now I'm not sure what I'm going to do.
