Need a suggestion for something romantic to do at WDW

So, Future Gal and I will be in WDW for 4 nights in early January, and since she is our CFO, it's impossible to spend any money without her knowing about it, and hence hard to surprise her with anything.

Nevertheless, since this trip is our anniversary present to each other (our anniversary is actually in October but work commitments kept us from taking the trip then) I really want to surprise her with something romantic and preferably unique to Disney while we're there.

Any suggestions on any romantic things to do or experiences to have?

depends on how much cash you want to spend. If you like Illuminations you can rent a boat for a private showing on the lagoon. I almost did that when I was going to propose...another thing would be to make an ADR and let them knwo youw ant flowers or something at teh table. As far as her not knowing hwo much you are spending, i got a credit card for jsut this occasion and used it only once, then payed it off.

My suggestion would be the carriage ride at Port Orleans, you can pick up the carriage at PORS and you can choose to stay at RS or go to POFQ. DH surprised me with this when we were there last Nov. around our Anniversary! It was very romantic and I thought it was something unique. If I remember correctly you can bring your own wine if you'd like and I'm pretty sure it was around $30-40?!?!!? I can't remember, if you're interested, I can double check with DH, he would remember.

Wow this is a tough one. It really all depends on what you would like to spend. IF you want to go all out you can do the Illuminations private show on the lagoon and I believe this also would work Wishes as well. If you want to be more economical, you can do what boilerbabe posted.

However, my favorite would be the dinner reservations. I would try to sneak in a reservation at a fancier type restaurant like California Grill where you can time it out to be a window seat for wishes. You can notify them in advance of the occasion and they will make it magical there.

My idea to throw in would be have the resort room decorated for your anniversary. I believe you might be able to get that done through reservations without her ever finding out.

I would book a nice dinner at Narcossees just before Wishes start. We had a wonderful view of wishes and loved the view and the food!!!!!!

It's funny that you mention that. Yesterday afternoon around lunchtime, my wife texted me and "hinted" that carriage rides are relatively inexpensive.

I really don't think you two will be disappointed! It was very romantic! We went through POFQ b/c we felt it was more quant with the streets and lights. If you decide to do this, let me know how you like it! Have a great vacation!

Dude, you sound just like us!!! My wife is also my CFO, so I have the same issue with spending money without her knowing. Also, our anniversary is in October, but due to circumstances we are celebrating it at the World in December! Rock on!
Anyway, I would love to weigh in on this. The boat ride for Illuminations is a good idea, especially if you take the "Breathless II", a reproduction antique Chris-Craft boat (awesome looking, I might add). We did that in '07, and I think it cost about $269....
Anyway, there are also a lot of other options available that really depend on how much you want to spend. I'm cooking up some really cool stuff for this trip with my sweetie (it's our tenth anniversary), but obviously I can't go more into it here because she can read this and I don't want to spoil the surprise (chuckle...).
