New Dessert Party at MK

Post by coasterfiend » Jul Sat 11, 2009 11:32 am

My son is headed to WDW for his graduatioin gift July 26, and I've made reservations for the evening dessert party at the Magic Kingdom. Just wondering if anyone here has participated in that yet and if so what they thought of it. Sorry if this is a repeat topic. Thanks!

I haven't actually done it yet, but I've only heard great reviews on it. I've heard that there is a great spread of all kinds of different deserts, from chocolate chip cookies to fresh fruit to chocolate covered strawberries. The view is also really great and the service is wonderful. There is a blog about it on www.allears.net and there is a review on the latest Dis Unplugged podcast.

Thanks for the link spodie!

I'll have my son give me a thorough review (well as thorough as an 18yo would provide  ) and I'll post back in a few weeks.

Wow. And the price is fairly reasonable, too, rather like the former cost of the DL's Fantasmic Dessert buffet (which is now astronomical in price and not nearly as good a spread). I think we'll check it out next trip (before any price hikes).

Keep calling back. I attempted to book it for my son's trip and was told all nights were full for July 26-30. I called the next morning and managed to get a reservation. Like so many ADRs sometimes one seems to open up.
Just a note, the first time I called I did not give any info about his resort reservation, nor did the CM ask. When I called the second time I purposely mentioned that he would be on property, celebrating his graduation, etc. I don't know if it helped or not but it's worth a try.

Good Luck!

This has been extended, I think thru the end of October and the price went up a bit. We paid $17.99 for adults and $9.99 for DD. Its now $23.42 and $12.99.

We did it Friday the 28th. It was very cool to do it once. The Wishes views were very nice, we usually watch from near there so it was nothing new. The desserts were very good. Chocolate covered strawberries, fresh cut fruit, mango shooters, raspberry tarts. brownies, kiwi mango tarts, creme brulee. Drinks were tea, lemonade, & water. It was nice but I am not sure its worth $60 for our family with the new price increase.

I wish they would extend this to Dec!!! Maybe if it's popular, they will bring it back or make it permanent?
