According to reports from a DLP cast member on twitter, the boy stood up before the boat had reached the platform to exit and fell backwards. Disneyland Paris put out a series of tweets on the resort's official twitter feed:

A five-year old boy was immediately rescued by our Emergency Services team that performed first aid.
We are accompanying the child’s family in order to offer any assistance necessary.

The attraction Pirates of the Caribbean is closed until further notice.
