I made two separate 1-day trips (one in March and one in April) and you can absolutely do it in a day. Here are the trip reports:

The $75 20th anniversary 1-day, 2-park ticket is a great deal. And if you want to only spend one night in a resort hotel AND book a room-only package, use the UK version of Expedia (expedia.co.uk). The US version bundles tickets.
