Tokyo DisneySea is getting a version of Fantasmic!

http://d23.disney.go.com/articles/02021 ... Tokyo.html

Since it seems this was only recently released, I'm not sure how much info is out there, but the picture sure reminds me of renderings for World of Color.

I wonder if the technology used for the new dragon in DL will be used for TDS? Either way, I'm guessing it will be a great show! (but not better than the original  )

I would not surprise if they built 2-3 dragons at the same time. They've done that before with Dumbo (WDW got a new dumbo years ago because of DLP opening). "Economy of Scales", as it is known as.

It also would not surprise that the new technologies being used in World of Color won't also be used in the TDL's version of Fantasmic!. I hope they go with the DLR's Peter Pan battle with Captain Hook sequence over the DHS's Pocahontas sequence at WDW. To me, DLR's version of Fantasmic! is better done.

An interesting note is that Mediterranean Harbour at Tokyo DisneySEA is much like World Showcase Lagoon in that it offers 360 degree viewing angles all the way around the perimeter.

Certainly looks interesting. I've popped it on the blog with a higher resolution version of the concept image: http://www.reflectionsofimagination.com ... disneysea/

Awesome! Thanks for the better resolution Andy. The picture looks even better now. I am looking forward to hearing more about the show as information becomes available.

I figure that the technologies for WoC are going to be incorporated into any new show for a while since it's so cutting edge. that is, until they come up with the next new technology.
I completely agree that the Peter Pan/Captain Hook sequence is far better than the Pocahontas sequence. I was actually kind of let down by WDW's version (but perhaps that's years of bias being around the original speaking). The updated characters are nice, but I like the classics. If everything focuses on the "newer stuff", the classics are left behind. I have high hopes for WoC. Mr. Davison seems to have a nice blend of old and new going into the show.

Anyway, back to TDS...Andy, you make an interesting note about the harbor. I did not know that the harbor offers a 360 degree view. I imagine the show is going to be mindblowing!!!!!

Here's a map of the park. Medterranean Harbour is the bottommost area of water: http://www5d.biglobe.ne.jp/~dora/disney ... ey_sea.jpg

It's not quite 360 degrees, but it isn't far off.

Wow! That's going to make for an interesting setting for the show! Thanks for the link to the map. One of these days I want to visit TDL/TDS...in fact, I would like to someday visit each Disney park around the world.

Heh, that's my goal, too. I've done DLP 3 times (and will likely be going there again later this year) and was a Cast Member at WDW (and will be going there for my first visit as a guest on the 27th!). Three more resorts to go.. ;)

I have, however, got the maps for all of the parks at home that people have sent me from all the parks.

Wow! It's awesome that people have sent you maps! I have not been to any Disney park outside of the U.S. but I'm hoping to change that soon. I think our first attempt will be DLP. I want to wait to see HKDL until after the new lands have opened and TDL/TDS after the new Fantasmic! opens.

Fantasmic at TDS will be awesome. The viewing space around the harbour is very good and should lend itself well to such a great show. I hope I have an opportunity to go back to TDL/TDS after the show opens.

The map was pretty cool to look at. I would love to look up videos of this version when it is finally up and going.

Just got back from TDL/TDS. INCREDIBLE! They have themselves an awesome resort!

That being said, I can see Fantasmic! replacing BraviSEAmo. The latter was a nice show, but I would bet Fantasmic would do incredible numbers.

And it may not look like 360, but essentially, there's room for everyone around the Harbor.

(And their TOT kicks a**!)

This all looks wonderful! Can we just "SNAP" our fingers and go there? At this point I think it's the only way I'm gonna be able to experience it.

That's what the "Tap 3 times..." thread is for. All non-WDW Disney parks. I'll have revive that one...
