I remember in France having normal toilets, but in some places they were unisex - no separate restrooms based on gender! You got a key from an attendant, went to that stall, and returned the key when finished. But luckily, normal western toilet.

The only time I ever encountered one of the squat (I call them pit still) was in China, clearly no one must need to go to the toilet when they are drunk there.

Ah, excellent. Thanks for the pictures!
I've heard about Ramen vending machines and would love to give it a whirl. Are they pretty common in Tokyo and Kyoto?

Vending machines are pretty common, the soup ones should not be terribly hard to find within the cities. Never tried one though.

I would agree, and I never tried them either ~ there were too many good restaurants to eat something from!Wizzard419 wrote:Vending machines are pretty common, the soup ones should not be terribly hard to find within the cities. Never tried one though.

Never did find the "used panties machine" that has been documented and joked about (part of the why Japan is freaky section).

I'm so disappointed in you Wizzard, if anyone could find that machine it would be youWizzard419 wrote:Never did find the "used panties machine" that has been documented and joked about (part of the why Japan is freaky section).
Of course it wouldn't be appropriate for this site if you had found it

I would have if I had the time, we did find some incredibly messed up items in the machines though. Some of which, such as the statues, I cannot post images of pretty much anywhere.

Given Japan's love for vending machines, what haven't they sold yet in a vending machine?

Guess I won't have to look too hard to find a vending machine!
Can anyone explain the lottery system to me for some of the Tokyo Disney shows (like Big Band Beat)? Do we line up for a ticket, or is it different?

They didn't have the lottery for shows when I visited ~ here is a good explanation from the TDL website though, it shows where the lottery tickets are distributed too...it looks like you can view the first show of the day if you get to the theater early enoughEsmeralda wrote:Guess I won't have to look too hard to find a vending machine!

Hmmmmm, wonder if they should try that stateside? Sometimes I can get a bit nasty with people waiting for Fantasmic at DHS in the summer time...Amy wrote:They didn't have the lottery for shows when I visited ~ here is a good explanation from the TDL website though, it shows where the lottery tickets are distributed too...it looks like you can view the first show of the day if you get to the theater early enoughEsmeralda wrote:Guess I won't have to look too hard to find a vending machine!

I can see why they have the lottery for the popular shows, but boy would I be disappointed if the only day I was visiting the parks, I wouldn't be able to see one of the showsmindflipper wrote:Hmmmmm, wonder if they should try that stateside? And yet I have heard that crowd can get nasty sometimes for Fantasmic (fighting over seats, etc.). Maybe a lottery idea could help with crowd control some?
