Post by acp » Dec Mon 22, 2008 7:57 am

A five-year-old boy from Londonderry has drowned after he fell into a hotel swimming pool near the Disneyland Resort in Paris.

Colum Canning, from Springtown Road, was staying at the Explorers Hotel near the resort.

It is believed he fell into the pool shortly after arriving on Thursday.

How very sad indeed that such a thing should happen on the first day of their holiday, and so close to Christmas :(

For those who don't know, the Explorer's Hotel is a hotel just outside the "ring" that circles the Disneyland Resort Paris property, and is one of the Partner Hotels of the resort.

Yes this is indeed sad and tragic. Unfortunately the Sister-in-law lost sight of him. And it sounds like even with the best efforts of everyone around couldn't revive him. I feel mostly for the twin brother, how bad is that that your brother dies tragically 6 days before their birthday in Disney. That has bad memories written all over it.

Oh, that's terrible! It's very sad to even hear that it happened a few days before their birthday and Christmas too.
