Post by Wuzefelix » Feb Fri 11, 2005 3:49 pm

Hey there, Hi there, Ho there!

After the "old" Toon Studios artwork...
http://www.screamscape.com/assets/image ... Art_w1.jpg

...a new one which is more atmospheric has been published by TWDC:
http://www.dlp.info/images/News/WDS/Too ... ationx.jpg

And there is a new folder, showing the new attractions 2005-2008:

Tomorrow, I will be at Paris, perhaps I can take some pictures of the construction work...

too bad that it's a picture and not text on a website, otherwise we'd be able to get the translation through babelfish.altavista.com and get some answers. Maybe I can find something on the official site about it...

Thanks for the info and translation-to-be if anyone can pull it off. One new ride per year, that should certainly help, esp with three of the four being e-ticket ones...

The only thing I can find is here from the official DLP site:
Space Mountain is closed from January 17 to April 8, 2005 to prepare for a whole new mission!

3... 2... 1... Fire!

Take off for an amazing, thrilling journey, inspired by Jules Verne's novel, "From the Earth to the Moon".

On board a space shuttle, you are catapulted by a giant cannon for a high speed adventure.

Look out, hang on tightly!
Doesn't say anything about what may be involved, only that it's currently down for repairs/rehab until April. If someone could translate the artwork page, we could probably get a bit more info, or at least we can hope for it...

Ok, this is what the poster says, according to babelfish (I typed out what the poster said and translated it):
Space Mountain, attraction headlight of the Disneyland Park, which celebrates its 10 years, will be completely reprogrammed. From April 2005, Space Mountain: Mission 2, will involve our visitors in an entirely new experiment. Space Mountain: Mission 2 will propel them to the borders of the universe, where no human never went. They will cross the way of comets, asteroids and a splendid supernova.
Sounds pretty cool... I wonder if WDW will get someting like this.

Hey there, Hi there, Ho there!

Space Mountain at Disneyland is closed for ever?? That makes me mad...

I am back. The last days, I have been to Paris, enjoying the Carnival Season. I got the new folder about the new attractions at Shareholders Club, but the english version was not aviable. I try to translate the letter of André Lacroix:

---------------------
Dear Shareholders,
At that hour, you hold this letter in your hand, the capital increasement of Euro Disney S.C.A. has begun. I think it is important that I will explain to you the motivations and conditions of this operation, which constitutes the last shutter of the restruction of the company. This restruction will alow the company to make existing attractions even better and to invest in new ones.
It will give us the means of pursuing the strategy of long-term growth, beginning at 2004, making Disneyland Resort Paris better and even more unique. The capital increasement will finance the investment plan of 240.000.000 Euro which will be used for three new attractions from now on to 2008.
Our strategie, based on innovation in the heart of our product, should bring "first-timers" from all over Europe who have never been to DLRP, and should make our guest even more satisfied. [.......]
André Lacroix
----------------
(Info: more than 94% of the visitors plan to revisit the Resort, so it is only necessary to win new "first-timers)

The french text abour Space Mountain: Mission 2 translated into english:

"Space Mountain, the very important attraction at Disneyland Park celebrating its 10th anniversary, will be completely relaunched. From 9th of april 2005, Space Mountain: Mission 2 will entertain our visitors with a very unique and new experience. Space Mountain: Mission 2 shoots you into the universe, to boldly go, where no one has ever gone before. You will cross several comets, astroids and a great supernova."
---------

Some information about Space Mountain Mission 2: Supernova:

I think you all know, that the Space Mountaion at DLRP is not like that one at WDW or DL. The track and the vehicles are like them at Rock'n Rollercoaster. The Space Mountain containes 2 corkscrews and a loop. And there is an onboard Sound System in the train. But it didn't play Rock music like the RnR, but a magnificent symphonic score. With Mission 2, it will get a new Soundtrack composed by Michael Giacchino (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0315974/). The launch in the big "Columbiad" canon was like that: The train went into the canon, it drove up into the middle of it, and from there it was fired into space. Space Mountain Mission 2 will be like that: The train will go to the middle of the canon like it did on Mission 1, then there is an accident, the train goes backwards until the very bottom of the canon (it is under the normal floor level!) and from there it will be launched the complete way into space. So the launch will be even a bit more intense than the RnR. In the inside of the mountain, there will be new effects, including maybe (Rumor!) plasma TVs. The supernove will be a giant effect which will be better than anything you have seen vefore (said the imagineers).

Sorry, I should have said "It's been closed for what seems like forever!!!" Closed since late 2003, Space Mountain @ Disneyland is scheduled to reopen later this year, but they're not changing the ride at all... just cleaning it up. I was trying to say that since the ride has been closed for soooooooooo long why couldn't they update it to be as cool as the one in DLP????

The Space Mountain they had in DLP was alot more intense than the US versions. SM2 sounds liike it could be better than RnR.

rickeisenstein, Have you got the full track ? (It' impossible ! )
If you have-it, I would like it, because all fans in france have juste the first part in CD-Quality ...
(Maybe you told juste about soundtrack that you listen in the ride in your past trip ?!)
