New shows at Tokyo DisneySea and Walt Disney Studios Paris

Post by acp » Jul Sat 02, 2016 2:49 pm

I'll put these in one thread rather than two.

This week, both Tokyo DisneySea and Walt Disney Studios Paris debuted brand new stage shows.

In Tokyo DisneySea, Out of Shadowland (not related to the song from The Lion King musical) premiered in the Hangar Theatre having replaced Mystic Rhythms*. It uses projection mapping all over the stage and from the video below it looks very well done. The show's in Japanese only:

Meanwhile, over in Walt Disney Studios Paris, Animagique** has been taken away (although lives on in name as the theatre is now called the Animagique Theatre) and has been replaced with Mickey and the Magician. Having watched through the video below, it looks like this is certainly the best stage show Disneyland Resort Paris has ever had and is certainly up there with some of the best stage shows at any of the resorts:

I can't wait to see both shows in a few months :)

So, what's your verdict on the new shows? I'm curious how you liked them.

Sad that Animagique went away. I liked that show. :(

I should be able to check out the Tokyo show in a couple of weeks.
No one's gloomy or complaining while the flatware's entertaining.

Amy, I hadn't remembered that you went to Tokyo Disney. When were you there?

I love the projections on the TDS show. They are really getting sophisticated.
