jeremy irons voice was so ethereal -- it created such a mysterious, magical mood

the new script and voice (dame judy dench?) feels like i'm in school listening to a boring lecture. utterly UNmagical

although i do have an affection for walter cronkite too

:)

I originally agreed with you. I loved the Jeremy Irons version. But after a few times riding it, the new narrator grows on you. I have moved from not liking it to almost as good as Irons.

Yea its not TERRIBLE as is. I certainly wish they would finish the descent portion. Im with you that the irons version was the best but the Judy Dench version has its moments and is growing on me.

Honestly in 20 years when they swap it out again we will probably be saying how bad that one was and how judy was so much better :)

I honestly think the narrator's voice is the least of concerns on that ride right now. I've got so many problems with the Siemens-era version that they could have Nancy Cartwright do the narration and I wouldn't quibble about the voice track for everything else that bugs me.
