Subsonic App :)
My husband and I got new iphones a couple of months ago. We were soooo happy to learn that subsonic has an app and that its free. That was our first download. We listen to subsoic alot of the times on the weekends. Even while we are out shopping at the stores. I want to thank who ever came up with this app. Its awesome THANK YOU

Yes the app is awesome, I wish a simple popup or notification would come up before you waste all you points picking songs for a channel thats down, I still love the background channel!

There is no notification system like that however there are a few hints you can use for seeing if a stream is down.DaRkNeSs wrote:Yes the app is awesome, I wish a simple popup or notification would come up before you waste all you points picking songs for a channel thats down, I still love the background channel!
1. It shows up with no streaming speed (96k is missing)
2. There is nobody listening
3. Stream not listed on the site.
I know it is far from a perfect detection system, but at least it is some insight.

Re: Subsonic App :)
I don't know if this is the right place to ask but how do I make the music turn off?
I tried pressing the square button on the app but it's not stopping the music.I touch the home button on my
iPhone 4S and it turns off but when I go back to the app it is still playing right where I left off.
Is there anyway to stop the music even to switch channels ? I can't figure it out So I thought I would ask
THANKS

I have the Tune In Radio app for android and the request stream can be found there. Even though it's not a full on Subsonic App, it's great while in the car.London Evans wrote:Any news on the Android front?

The little square button, that turns into an arrow when you want to start the stream, is what I touch to stop the stream. Then you have to use the select channel button to switch streams. Maybe you need to update your app?disfamof3 wrote:I don't know if this is the right place to ask but how do I make the music turn off?

Re: Subsonic App :)
Just got my first smart phone, the iPhone 4s, can anyone tell me how much data usage this uses when streaming subsonic on the 3G network (for verizon). I have 2gb data plan and I would love to listen to Subsonic on my way to work but not if the streaming (for my 10 min drive to work) eats up alot of data.
I know this is probably your first flight...and it's mine too...ha, ha

Re: Subsonic App :)
uhhh 96k stream is 96k/sec... so it is 700.2kb per min... 41mb/hr
96000 bits/8 = 12000 bytes/sec.
12000 bytes / 1028 bytes in a kilobyte= 11.67kb
11.67*60 = 700.2kb/min
700.2 kb/min * 60 = 42012 kb/hr
42012 kb/hr / 1028 kb in a megabyte = 40.86 mb/hr

I'm no math wizard, but I think that means you're just fine packwingfn, so stream away!
I also want to chime in about how wonderful the Sub app is. I have it on my Ipad and listen every morning while I get the kids ready for school. Thanks Bleulama and anyone else involved.
