Hey all. Version 1.8 is now available. It offers support for (my) new "Dole Whip" stream. Enjoy!

1985: WDW MK, EPCOT, River Country -- Polynesian
2011: DLR, DCA (one day)
2012: WDW Poly (one evening)
All of that, and part of me is still there.

Great, thanks :goofy_bounce:

Any particular reason why you skipped/didn't release v1.7?

I was starting to overhaul the way it retrieved the stream links, and i got about halfway done, never finished it... but it had exactly the same outward functionality as 1.6, so it was kinda pointless to release it. And since it'd been so long since I touched it, i decided to bump the version number to 1.8.

Erm. I mean because the travelling ghosts of the Haunted Mansion grabbed my source code and infected it with ghouls, so i couldn't release it in that state.

I like it ! Honestly, I didn't really see the need for a Mac OS X App, but once I downloaded it, it seemed really cool. I've made it part of my startup items. Any reason why you chose Growl notifications instead of the 10.6 "Notifications" feature in the system software ?

I made it before Notifications were available, so I didn't implement those. I'll look into that for future releases. :)

Cool. One more thing - is there a way to play the stream from the app through Airplay ? Obviously, that's easy through iTunes, but is there a way through the app ? This may be less of a "missing feature" and more "shameful ignorance" on my part, but there you go.

Again, great OSX app.

Nope. No airplay support. No idea how to do that. I'll put it on "the list" ;)

You can enable an Airplay device for all sound output for your Mac. See this video I made.

Video for Airplay

ExpressPi, is an Airport Express, and the other is obviously an AppleTV.

I just discovered this myself - basically, option-clicking the sound icon in the menu bar will let you select between your last used AirPlay device and the internal speakers of your computer (you can also go to the sound tab in your system preferences to select another AirPlay source) And this works for any sound coming out of your Mac, not just the Subsonic applet. Totally great feature, and I wish Apple had made more of an effort letting people know about it !

Do you have plans to develop one for the iPad? It would be great to have Sub on all my Apple devices.

Hmmm. Didn't recognise it when I went to download to the iPad. I'll have to try again.

Version 1.11 is out now

There's only one change; If you're on Yosemite (OS X 10.10) the stream name now displays properly in the screen menu bar. If you're not on Yosemite, there's no reason to update to this version, although I'm not gonna stop ya. ;)
