Re: iphone app
I doubt that it isn't a problem limited to the iPhone app - since I'm unable to connect to either the Soarin' or the Star Tunnel stream, too, and I tried various players on both Windows and Mac OS X...
The number of listeners displayed on the home page is also 0 in both cases, which is unusual.
Maybe the streams are down?

Re: iphone app
Might have been down earlier. I do know that Soarin is working as I am listening to it right now on my iPhone using the subsonic app.Arvorenn wrote:I doubt that it isn't a problem limited to the iPhone app - since I'm unable to connect to either the Soarin' or the Star Tunnel stream, too, and I tried various players on both Windows and Mac OS X...

Re: iphone app
Now that I have an iPhone, all I need is the data plan to support this... :p

Re: iphone app
If with verizon you should have an unlimited plan. If with AT&T the 2Gb plan will allow enough streaming but you will use it up!casrin wrote:Now that I have an iPhone, all I need is the data plan to support this... :p
For AT&T you can dial *3282# on your phone to find out your monthly data and text message usage.

Re: iphone app
I have the smaller plan with AT&T (200mb). So I figure that'd be gone in a snap!

I'm thinking streaming any kind of data would be a bad idea with a small plancasrin wrote:I have the smaller plan with AT&T (200mb). So I figure that'd be gone in a snap!

Re: iphone app
Get the 2 gb plan. It's I think $10 more and you can stream enough. 200 mb can be used up by just getting emails for a month.casrin wrote:I have the smaller plan with AT&T (200mb). So I figure that'd be gone in a snap!

Re: iphone app
Have to adjust to paying for a data plan in general first.
Question for you smart folks though! If I'm in a WiFi zone with AT&T, does that mean that Subsonic's app would play for free? Everything else in WiFi seems not to affect my monthly plan. But I wanted to be sure before I tried tuning in while on lunch with my phone. Thanks in advance!

Re: iphone app
That is a good question. I think it would be wise to check directly with AT&T but this is what I found...it only mentions laptop and netbooks though...surfing through a few other sites, it looks like wifi does not count against your data plan, but again, I would call to make certain! And streaming the audio does gobble up the battery on my iphone relatively quickly so I usually save it for in the car where it can be plugged in!casrin wrote:Have to adjust to paying for a data plan in general first.

http://www.wireless.att.com/answer-cent ... d=KB109365Wi-Fi usage doesn't count against the data included in your plan. Laptop and Netbook customers get free Wi-Fi at AT&T's hot spots

Re: iphone app
Anybody else experiencing issues witht he scheduled stream? I asked about this a few weeks ago and some said it was just the connection I have, but I've actually got great connection where I live and still can't get the scheduled stream to open, ever? What gives?

Correct. Any internet based access while on WiFi will not be billed. The iPhone will just about always use the WiFi connection if one is established for data which does not apply to your data plan allotment.
