Re: Android app
I am wondering if someone can help me. I have owned my droid for less than 48 hours and am still trying to get used to it. I got the TuneIn radio app, pulled up Subsonic, but it will not play. It says it is fetching it but ultimately says it is unavailable. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks for bearing with me!
Re: Android app
There was an issue with the two streams on tunein, I took Subsonic off my preset list and put it back on. The stream on there now is a 96k and it's working just fine.

Re: Android app
Not a specific one designed for Subsonic, but I gather they are trying to use an existing andriod app to connect to Subsonic...

Re: Android app
I used TuneIn for a long time and there seems to be only one stream left available there (the request stream) I switched to xiilive (the free version) It is awesome. You use your Droid browser to go to the Subsonic homepage hold your finger over the name of the stream you want and when the right-click options come up you "copy URL". Open xiilive go to Favorites > add favorite: paste URL and name it what you want. From then on you have access to your chosen stream anytime through xiilive. (you only need to use the browser for set up).

I don't know what the paid version of xiilive has to offer over the free version. Re: Android app
I'm using Xiilive (paid) and have problems getting the Requests streams to work. Neither the high nor medium quality streams play. They connect then disconnect quickly. Oddly, the Background stream seems to work. The Soarin', Living Seas and Star Tunnel work as weel but their links are different. Any tips?
They did work a while back but it's been a while since I connected. The links that did work were in the form of http://request-high.subsonicradio.com:8000/listen.pls or request-med since high appears to have filled up as I was trying!

Re: Android app
I've just installed WinAmp for Android which is working very well. Worth a shot IMO:-

Re: Android app
I am using XiiLive lite. I manually copy the web address for the streams and it works well. I've not been able to get winamp for android (at least not the free version) to remember the address and it wont find it on its own.

Re: Android app
Hey all. I'm about to learn Android development for a contract, and one of the things I'd like to eventually work on is a Subsonic app (like my iOS and OS X apps). If you all could, if you're interested, please let me know what devices/OS version you're using there, so I can try to accomodate y'all, once I get into it. (No promises, and this might take a very long time). Thanks! (I'll be getting a Nexus 7 for testing, most likely, myself)

I've just got myself a Nexus 7, and WinAmp seems to work very well. If it would help people, I can write a quick 'howto' page detailing how to play the streams in WinAmp for Android?
Maybe I should dig out the half-finished Android SSR app I started writing a while back and finish it...
