Nice ~ do you have the link to the free app a day? I can't even find the Planet Earth download that is supposed to be free in itunes today in celebration of Earth DayMmeLeota wrote:Attention android users! (especially those who have been having problems getting Subsonic to stream on their phones)
While we *impatiently* await a Subsonic android app, I found a fix for the meantime.
The Amazon appstore offers one paid app for free a day; everyday there is a different app available. Sometimes it's a game, sometimes it's a tool. Either way, it's an app that one would normally have to pay for and it's available for free.
Today's (4/22/11) app is Tune In Radio Pro. I downloaded it this morning and to my surprise, I found the Subsonic request stream!!! (and it actually works!!!!) YAY!!! I can listen on my phone now!!!!

Re: Android app
I'm not sure if they have apps for iphones or not. I believe this is just an android app store. Either way, I posted a link.

Re: Android app
just noticed the difference between the free one (TuneIn Radio) and the $.99 one (TuneIn Pro) is that the Pro one allows you to record. This might be worth the $.99 price tag!

Re: Android app
It's really more like a DVR...so you could rewind if you missed something. That's how I understood it...but I don't have the Pro version yet so I don't know for sure.mindflipper wrote:Errrrrr...(cough, cough)....as part of being an user here, we're not suppose to be recording the streams....

Re: Android app
How do you get the "Tune In" app to play the Scheduled stream? I can only find the Request stream.

Re: Android app
Request is the only stream I found. I know I was kinda bummed that I couldn't find the background stream, but I'm happy to have a way to listen to Subsonic on my phone!
As far as the recording goes, I haven't tried it, but I believe BIG is right.

Re: Android app
I use TuneIn Radio Pro. It's a paid app, but the free version also works just fine. Download and seach for subsonic. Plays the request stream.
